We experienced an amazing stay for two nights here. Having experienced another property prior, we just knew the moment we were welcomed that we made the right decision. The sea facing room was lovely and the service amazing. There is an ample choice of diverse food, beverage and snack options in the vicinity.nCar parking is by valet service and it was always prompt and safe.
A pretty good hotel, but please don't get fooled by EVT STAYS promotional emails. Read them very carefully - right to the very bottom of the long scrolled page ! So this week's deal was discounted room rates plus $5 or $10 breakfasts. Click the box and you are taken to 69 participating hotels. Why would you scroll way down to the bottom of the page at this point to find the fine print that says Rydges Newcastle does not participate in the deal No you would not, because further up the page where you are told there are 69 participating hotels, you find Rydges Newcastle is listed as one of them. So you enter your details to make the booking thinking you are getting a good rate - including discounted breakfast. NO YOU ARE NOT ! The people who don't complain however are usually the ones who do not return. Thank you EVT STAYS for taking my call today and just agreeing with me. Actions speak louder than words.
Enjoyable stay. Staff were consistently very friendly and helpful across all departments. I was very impressed with the staff - whether it was special requests for a kid, resolving my booking error, responding to questions about the local area.nnRooms facing water have a great view! A little tired but well maintained.nnBuffet breakfast was good, standard fare, everything you expect and a good feed. Nothing outstanding or note worthy.nnRecommend and would stay again.
A brilliant hotel, perfect for families. You can order food and drinks to the pool, and the staff went to extra effort to ensure my son was welcome and stuff to do - handing him an activity pack when we ate at the restaurant and giving him a plush toy whale which he loved. Food in the restaurant was beautifully presented and flavoursome.nGreat location, very reasonably priced. Would gladly stay here again
Great hotel with beautiful harbour views and well located in Newcastle so you can easily walk to restaurants.nThere was a sign saying they are upgrading the rooms and to be fair, it’s needed.nThe rooms do feel dated but the bed was so comfortable and the shower - while we were dubious when seeing the old shower head - had wonderful pressure.nThe pool and water slide were an absolute hit. Staff were friendly.
