At Royal Thai, we take great care in preparing cuisine from recipes handed down for centuries, adjusted to today's taste and served in an authentic manner.

Story

The fragrant blend hot, sweet, sour, salty and sometimes bitter flavours, make Thai food one of the world's mot distinctive and popular cuisines. Our food is lightly cooked with care, so it's crisp, colourful by nature, deliciously flavored, fresh and nutritious. Essential herbs and spices in our cuisine include lemon grass, lime leaves, galangal, coriander, and fresh basil to name a few.

Traditionally, the best way to experience the full flavours of Thai stir fry. soup and curry dishes, is to take a portion of rice and a portion of the dish onto your plate and eat them both together.

We aim to accommodate the spicy level one can take. Please feel free to tell our friendly staff for the spicy level you would like in your dish. Whether it a mild, medium, hot or Thai hot, we will serve the way you like!

Thai has become one of my favourite foods to eat and the dishes at Royal Thai only reinforced this. I've almost covered most Thai restaurants in North Hobart and this almost felt like I'd left the best for last. I was met with friendly service as soon as I had walked in. I already had an idea of what I was going to eat. I started off with Golden Cups as an entree $10.95 for 4 cups which tasted great. I followed it up with Gai Katiem $18.95 for the main. This was possibly some of the best garlic chicken I've had so far. There's a nice ambience inside and the staff really did a great job with service being friendly and helpful. The next time I go I think it'll with a few friends so we can take on one of the buffet deals and try a nice selection of a few different dishes. Great job Royal Thai.
Loved the interior, food was amazing and service by Katie robot was really fancy!! Must try Thai in the town!! Little pricey but worth it
My girlfriend and I went to have our dinner there. Service was excellent, and food was amazing. Pad Thai was perfect, flavour is unique. My girlfriend ordered a dried rice with pineapple, it was delicious. Both dishes were a good portion. We will come back for sureFood: 5/5
Beautiful spot with elegant decor and food was A W E S O M E Loved it, best green curry in Hobart so far. Yes, a little pricy but definitely worth every single cent! My 3 years old daughter enjoyed the Pad Thai too and enjoyed the vibe. And oh, before I forget, Service was amazing. Thank you Royal Thai, we’ll be back for sure!
We have been there 3 times and every time the food was consistent and very tasty. Great hospitality. We decided to have our graduation dinner there for 25 people, it was definitely worth it. Food was great even though we all ordered ala carte. Definitely one of our favourite restaurants now.
Really great Thai restaurant on Elizabeth Street in Hobart. Firstly this restaurant has a great vegetarian menu. From this we ordered the vegetarian Pad Thai and the tofu with cashews. Both of which were really good. For dessert we had a mango with sticky rice, which was also excellent. The restaurant also has quite a good wine list full of Tasmanian wines. None of the wines on the list appeared to have any significant mark up, which is an added bonus. We had the 2018 Freycinet Vinyards reisling off the list, which was a real winner. Plus the staff could not be more helpful and friendly. This restaurant comes recommended.
Dinner was delicious and the restaurant is lovely with Thai dresses and other decorations on the walls. Lots of choices where you don't have to have spicy. Would definitely recommend for a meal
Finally we we found a best place to dine in Hobart. Delicious food with great customer services. The best highlight is they are much concern about customer’s needs.
Great service, food amazing. Staff helpful and friendly. Try the prawn cakes, tom yum, curries and stirfrys. It was really tasty and filling Kid-friendliness: We had a 10month old they had highchairs Parking: Street parking after 6pm free
The staffs are very friendly and the place is nice with traditional Thai decorations. Food is yummy as well. We do love the homemade sauce that they add to stir fried dish.
