First time sailing on the MRX. The coach was awesome, made learning fun & safe. Thank you putting the online courses together too. I am so happy & looking forward to my next lesson. :- Lunch was delicious with beautiful sea views. Highly recommended.
This public venue is impressive enough because of its location which reinforces the nautical theme of this grand building. This guardian of The Americas Cup is laden with rooms to cater for multiple events that truly have iconic views.
This is a bit of a different review as I was fortunate enough to be a supplier for a corporate celebration there over the weekend, rather than a customer. The event manager, Victory, made delivery and pick up a breeze, and was a great communicator. The location is established, access is good, and every window is like a postcard to look out of. I would certainly recommend the RNZYS for any event to impress.
Awesome presentation of all the trophies! Great venue for a conference with epic views
Great views of Auckland bridge. Different bars, good atmosphere. Restaurant has good food
The Yacht club took care of us during a moving and sad time of loss of a dear person. I attended a "celebration of life". The food and service was wonderful and of course the venue is classically elegant and boaty, peeking out over the harbour, under the bridge. The walk along the marina is very pleasant and one day I hope to have time to stop and sit at one of the loungers!! Thank you RNZYC of Auckland.
Excellent views from the bar and restaurant. The History of Yachting in New Zealand is second to none. From the America's Cup , Prada Cup and multiple cups of different classes of racing. Prime location at Westhaven overlooking the beautiful Waitemata Harbour and spectacular views of the Auckland Harbour Bridge.
Superb club - in the traditional sense. A few well-worn corners that give away the Squadron's true purpose. A superb lay out that aptly lays out the Squadron's history on Auckland's waters. A dining room with enough life to be comfortable, but plenty of privacy to ensure one feels special dining among their party. Seafood dishes are delicious, and lamb and steak ensure everyone is happy. There's even fish and chips for the kids. A good wine and beer selection makes for a good transition between the dining room and separate bar - both with extraordinary views across the harbour. The centrepiece though: the America's Cup. Go here and enjoy a unique experience to really make for a special evening.
Food was good gastro pub fare in the upstairs bar but the service was a little slow. You can't beat the location though. Absolutely stunning and we can see the Americas Cup as well.
Got invited on a company event for a sailing race course with Elliot 7 and one of my most thrilling activity as I'm not into sailing or done other water activities apart from swimming in pools and beach. Felt very privileged to be inside this building and saw all the memorabilia of NZ sailing. Had drinks and nibbles in their bar area and also bought souvenir - shorts and shirt with RNZYS emblem which are so cool. The old building with quite outdated interior is not a downside of the rich history the building houses. There is a great view from the first floor of the outside surroundings of the marina and harbour.
