Chop Chop

Had lunch here and thought the food was good. Obviously the ramen is fusion style, so it has a couple of unique flavours. The beef brisket ramen was excellent. The Cobra Kai was OK but definitely had a substantial amount of toppings.

Wonderful little noodle house tucked away in a Ponsonby food court. We were lucky enough to get a table as it was packed. Sat at the counter opposite the two chefs and bartender working their magic. It is always a pleasant sight watching people in flow. They have a wide range of offerings from on the go street food to larger plates / bowls. We started off with the soft crab bun which light and full of flavor. I followed that up with the brisket ramen which was just the right amount of food. It tastes great without being overwhelmingly salty as ramen can be. They are generous with the amount if brisket provided which is always welcome. My SO had the vegetable salad with an add of salmon and that was great! The salmon made all of the difference, the quality of the fish in New Zealand is far superior to what we get stateside. If you're looking for an Asian quick bite packed with flavor, I highly recommend Chop chop noodle house.

The Jerk Chicken and Cobra Kai ramen was tasty. The chicken wasn't overcooked and the favor melded into the broth quite nicely. The location was easy to find as well. The on tap cider was easy to drink and didn't overpower the ramen's denser flavor. The Mai Tai was great as well. They asked us about dietary restrictions right off the bat.

Ramen at its best. Came here with my family for early dinner, the place has limited seating so if you're a big group it's recommended to visit when it's not too busy or visit early since they don't take bookings, it is a walk in restaurant only. I came there and ask if I can get Korean soup - Ramen type. Young lady hostesses told me that I need to consult the menu and gave me the menu…. Ok It was almost empty place, couple on corner and 3 people on the bench, app 20+ free places, so I have asked if I can go to the bench, and hostess was very negative, branch is ONLY for 3+ people, even if you stay 15 min even if the place is empty. So I went through the internet, after menu and got the soup Ramen. I asked to pay, they told me I need to approach to cash point, I went there and lady paid by my debit card, lady asked me if I would like to leave tips, I didn’t won’t for the the very bad service and hostess was disinterested, she was like walking robot confused by life in general, so lady make a grimace … The soup very tasty. So dear Chop Chop people if you want you place to be fitted with people try to be more polite to your guests, not to make grimaces and to charge 1,75% extra for debit card payments!

Been wanting to try here for awhile. Waited for like over 5 minutes by the sign and was left unattended. So we went in and talked to the waitress and eventually was seated. We ordered the pork, beef brisket and the jerk chicken ramen. But it did take a long time before we were being served. The food came after 10 to 15 minutes which was reasonable. The pork topping was not bad, the beef brisket was quite dry. The chicken was the best for me, the broth and the ramen noodle was quite good tasting. However, without naming who, I saw one of the staff touching raw chicken and then went to wash hands for a very short while then went and start doing other things. They were normally dealing with making donburis and bao bun which involves a lot of hand contact without gloves, this put me off by a lot as I have pretty high standard of food hygiene being a cook myself. Lucky the ramen was cooked by another person, but given service level and just average food, I will probably pass on coming back.

Chop chop ramen noodle bar is by far the best restaurant experience I’ve had in a wee while. The staff were very professional and customer service orientated, my husband and I came here as a last minute decision. 5 drinks and a great meal later we were making plans with recommendations from the staff of where to embark for the remainder of our evening. Marriage saved. Thank you Caleb I think it was? and his awesome staff for a great time. We will be back!

The food is great but I felt insulted about my wife being denied of ordering an option just because it was from the “kids menu” and they “don’t sell kids options” for adults. My wife was just not that hungry and just wanted to order a smaller dish. We assumed options for kids are cheaper for being smaller and not because kids have a special discount. We were not trying to have a “discount for kids” come on!

If you're looking for a different Japanese eatery style, this place will blow your mind as it's very deceivingly good foods. Price is $$ to $$$ and for the food you're paying it's more than your mouth can drool upon, very excellent food, service and overall taste You will have no regrets here.
