One of the most beautiful places in Melbourne. The gardens are peaceful, green, and perfect for a quiet walk or just sitting by the lake. Everything feels so calm and fresh. It’s a great escape from the busy city. I could spend hours here without getting bored.
Lightscape @ The Botanic Gardens. It doesn't disappoint. We arrived a little early for the 8pm session. Many were still arriving after their allotted time but it all seemed to work out. People were orderly and fair. The setup for this years event was brilliant. Loads to see and hear. Food and beverage is available on your way around. Takes about 1-1.5hrs to walk around. Can get quite cool so rug up. Food vans at the entrance provide a variety of food types but close around 9pm. Take advantage of food prior to entering if you need. Would highly recommend.
I walked pound these incredible Gardens for a few hours they're very well looked after the number of species of trees that you see are endless and I thoroughly enjoyed it there's also a large range of birds around to give the botanic gardens that authentic Forest feeling. The lakes are coupled really well with background of Melbourne and skyscrapers
Great gardens with such a wide variety of areas, themes and plants. A good place for birds also.nA nice place for a Sunday avo to relax on the grass, come for a coffee and a quiet stroll around the gardens.nThe dense ferns and palms area is particularly beautiful with a nicely made walkway and man-made creek. Then there's the ponded area where you'll hear the bell miners from a long way away. Keep an eye out for the night Heron by the small bridge.
The Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne is a highly-regarded green space offering a tranquil escape within the city. With 38 hectares of diverse flora, including over 8,500 plant species, the gardens provide a picturesque setting for leisurely walks, picnics, and nature appreciation. Visitors consistently praise the well-maintained landscapes, mature trees, and the diverse plant collections. The Ornamental Lake, with its black swans and other waterfowl, is a particularly popular spot.
