It was a spectacular sight to behold. The lightscape is just glamorous. My family and I had a splash of fun and amusement walking through the trail. The paths were well marked with sufficient stops in between for eating and refreshing. Very secure and child friendly too. Extremely organised in terms of ticketing, entry, and exit.
The Rose Garden is absolutely stunning, with a beautiful collection of roses in full bloom. The gardens are very clean, peaceful, and well maintained, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature. A special bonus is the excellent pizza shop near the entrance to the Rose Garden, which is a great place to stop for a meal after your visit. Highly recommended!
An absolute must-do every Melbourne winter! Lightscape completely transforms the Botanic Gardens into a brilliant sensory experience. The mix of glowing installations, lasers, and music against the night sky is genuinely incredible.nnIt takes about an hour to walk the whole trail at a comfortable pace. Make sure you rug up—it gets freezing out there in the dark! But the cold honestly just adds to the winter wonderland vibe.nnThere are fantastic food trucks set up along the way, which are perfect for grabbing a hot bite or a warm drink to heat your hands while you wander. Considering the quality of the installations, it’s a surprisingly cheap night out. Highly recommend!
We had our wedding photoshoot at the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and it was absolutely magical.nThe gardens are beyond beautiful, every corner feels peaceful, elegant, and full of natural charm. It was the perfect backdrop for such an important moment in our lives, and every photo turned out stunning thanks to the incredible scenery.nWe felt so calm and happy walking through the gardens on such a special day. It truly added something timeless and romantic to our wedding memories. We couldn’t have chosen a better place for our photos, and we will always be grateful to have captured such meaningful moments here
We recently visited Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne and it was such a beautiful, relaxing family outing — and completely free.nnThe lotus flowers are currently in bloom and the Oriental Lake looks stunning, filled with soft pinks, whites and lush greenery. It’s the perfect spot for a slow wander, taking in the scenery and enjoying some downtime together as a family.nnWe spent time strolling along the paths, relaxing on the grass, grabbing a coffee from the café and letting the kids explore the children’s garden, which is easily one of the best in Melbourne. It’s thoughtfully designed, engaging and a great space for kids to move, play and discover.nnThe lotus blooms only last for a short time, so it’s a lovely excuse for a picnic or gentle walk. You can also take a punt on the lake to see the flowers up close from the water, which adds something special to the visit.nnA peaceful, beautiful space that’s perfect for families, couples or anyone needing a calm break in the city. Highly recommend visiting while the lotus flowers are in bloom.
