The only Indian restaurant where I would like to visit again. Great ambience. Great interior and lights. Quality food and great friendly staff. Only thing I would like to mention is the wait times during dinner. Other than that Parking: Street parking
The go-to place for Indian food in Mackay. Great selection of curries. Friendly service. Only flaw is the wait time for food during the dinner rush. Expect to wait a decent amount of time for your food. Lunch, however, is pretty quick.
A bit of a let down. Strangely everything was quite sweet, kinda bland and lacking spice. Onions bhaji was inedible, Samosa had no seasoning, tasted like mashed potatoes. My Favourite part Naan bread, was burnt . Tamarind sauce was so sweet it tasted like cola syrup. Aloo gobi though in a pool of oil, was very tasty. Butter chicken was ok, sauce lacked spice, tasted sweet and mostly of tomatoes. The best and most authentic was the Lamb Rogan Josh, well seasoned and spicy as requested.
Customer service, the flavour of the food... 10 out of 10. If you like creamy profound seafood flavour, you should try their seafood curry. It was one of the best curries in my whole life! The two girls serving the food and drinks were exceptionally professional and friendly :
Will never order takeaway from here again. Food rating at bottom of review. So I called to place a takeaway order. No answer. I tried to download the app but rather than a link, they have a QR code on their PDF menu? Did they think I would have a 2nd phone to scan it with while I had the PDF open on my first phone? I placed an order online, thru there wildly un-user friendly app. That required me to set up an account and sent me a one time password. The order said a 90mins wait, and counted down on the app. I realised according to their Google maps business hours they close in a few minutes. I rushed down to collect my order to realise. They don't close at 8:30pm as advertised and my food would be another 30mins. The girl at the front counter offered to call me when my order was ready. She never did. I came back at 9:32 even though no one called. I placed my order at 8:06pm. So as app predicted was a 90min wait for food. Chicken Tikka was bland and kinda dry Raita was actually amazing! They use fresh herbs Nann bread was burnt but they did use fresh herbs. Sauce for chicken Korma was nice but the meat was low quality. For a nicer resturant the presentation and packaging of the meal was more like street food. Response to owner: Thankyou but given you've stated in your response I can expect the 1.5-2hr wait to be a regular occurrence, that being short staffed is standard and the food will presumable taste the same. Me and my husband had an amazing dinner at Roshni. The food was incredible. Well seasoned, good portion sizes. For sure one of the best Indian food restaurants we have been to. We will be back for sure and try different options. The okra dish was sensational and the spinach panner to die for. Hubby loved the Indian beer too. Service was spotless. Congrats to the chef! Expect us as regulars for our date nights!

Travelling down the coast of Australia, we stopped over night in Mackay and decided on take away Indian for dinner. You simply must eat from Roshni. The food was amazing and the service was great. For a Tuesday night, the restaurant was full too, which is also an amazing sign. Highly recommend the Butter Chicken.
Great food. Understand the wait time as we are in Beaches. Waited an hour the first time we got food here. Today it has been 2 hours because the delivery driver didn't have the correct address. Simple problem with a simple solution which can make a huge difference. The driver has gone to closer deliveries sooner, as he was at andergrove when he called. A little tip. Maybe deliver to the furthest away first to ensure hot food and better service and communicate the address correctly.
This was my first time ordering from here but I was so keen to try because I’ve read such amazing reviews! I ordered food for my partner and I at 6:20. Its currently 9:15 and I still haven’t received anything. I was contemplating getting something else because it’s been nearly 3 HOURS. I know it’s not the fault of the poor staff, but if your restaurant is constantly this busy, it’s up to you to hire more staff to compensate. I can’t imagine having to work here and deal with the stress of constantly having to apologise for the wait times when it’s not their fault and I’m happy that I got out of the hospitality industry for this very reason! Hopefully the owner can hire more staff before people don’t brother coming back. Trust me, happy staff will make your business boom. I don’t think the 3 hour wait has been worth it.
