"Tamar Ridge Winery is on the western bank of the picturesque Tamar River just north of Launceston. The full range of Tamar Ridge wines and Pirie sparkling can be tasted at the cellar door as well as a range of the Devil’s Corner wines. Our informative and friendly staff will guide you through the range of wines. Plus there is usually the odd 'hidden treasure' - wines restricted to Cellar Door and not generally available.Guests can picnic on the lawn or enjoy a glass of wine on the deck overlooking the Tamar River. Platters featuring Tasmanian cheeses and locally made terrines are available for purchase. The cellar door can cater for large groups, by prior arrangement."

Did the wine, spirit and culinary tour here, and it was fantastic. The staff was knowledgeable and enthusiastic, the tasting was certainly inclusive, and the food delicious and generous. A neat little insight into the workings of a distillery!
Nice winery on a hill overlooking the Tamar river. They have a few different tasting options. We chose the bar tasting, which didn’t include any of their high priced wines. I really enjoyed their sparkling wines and ended up buying one after the tasting. The employee gave us a discount since we did a wine tasting, which was really nice!
Excellent location looking over the river. As a Queenslander, we usually have ice with our wine; however, a winery that doesn't have ice, that's something that can be easier fixed. Not much of a wide selection, however, the cheese platter was good.
Great views, but after paying $20 per head for a tiny tasting advertised as a 'flight' we felt ripped off. Customer service needs work. We would have had a better experience if they served a flight as advertised so we could enjoy the view.. Gin bar next door is excellent though with great atmosphere, gins and friendly service.
One of the waitstaff walked into a glass door like a bird. We have come here before and my old man had a senior moment and rebooked us. Mother’s Day and it was only at half capacity. Wine and views are good, but everything else is abysmal. The best part about this place is getting a buzz and having a good laugh about the food and service. Food platters are expensive for what you get and come out with minimal amounts. The introduction of the food by the waitstaff was “not interesting” and specified that they were separate from the food caterers. As another review mentions, she loves the word “darling”. The other waitstaff walked into the window which is forgivable but much too funny not to mention. After 3-4 years of bad reviews it might be time for brown brothers to do something about the cellar door as it does the wine a disservice.
Went to the cellar around 10:40 Am this morning and received very unfriendly service from the tasting area staff not sure his name, sounds like Tarren. He asked what would you like guys wanted and sound impatient. Gave us the cheapest tasting price and we were realised later after about to go back to car that, there are more options. Also asked him if there will be food serve in premises, he reply with quick NO. During testing he just watch, not talking, lean back while checking mobile phone, point on the tasting menu what we tasted. Even though good view however so far the worst winery cellar I ever experience.
Visited last month, after stops at Stoney Rise and Marion’s Vineryard. If I could replay the day, we would’ve gone home after Marion’s, as the service at Tamar Ridge was simply terrible. There are good views here and the wine is ok.
Poor form. We went here after trying a wine the night before in a nearby town, but the service was abysmal 21 March. The lady who "walked" us through the wine was rude and unpleasant. Reminded us multiple times they were a part of Brown Brothers and told us to "Google it" when we asked about the specific sparkling making process. Another lady overheard and tried to make things better, but I think we were served by the manager so she backed away. This winery became the reference point for the rest of our trip "what is worse, the service at Tamar Ridge, or ..." And Tamar Ridge was always the worst! The additional star is only because the wine was decent. Go to Marion's and Stoney Ridge over here!
One of the best cellar door we visited in the Tamar Valley region. Good wines. Nice environment. Friendly staff. We had a great time wine tasting there. The staff not only introduce the wine to us, but also recommend devils corner to us which turned out to be a good one. After the wine tasting, we saw a peacock at the garden. It’s amazing!!! We dunno it’s a wild animal or their pet. You may go there and see if you can meet the amazing creature.
We had the best experience at Tamar Ridge, the service was amazing. We were visiting from Melbourne for the weekend and the staff took the time to talk us through the wines and were so friendly and accomodating. They even gave us other recommendations for Launceston. Would definitely visit again!
