Rolling Surf Resort is ideally situated on Caloundra’s Kings Beach and takes pride in being the closest resort to the ocean. Our spacious one, two and three bedroom apartments are fully self contained and comfortably furnished, our apartments offer varied views including the resorts pool, the ocean or private courtyard apartments. Good value stay for a two bedroom apartment as we took advantage of an offer, not absolute beachfront for our apartment, but we still had some beach view. Very family oriented and friendly. It’s better for families than a romantic getaway. For me, I would rather have a private cabin in the woods. I didn’t like the small cramped lifts, and I told the concierge I was claustrophobic, but they didn’t offer us a ground floor apartment, so we constantly tramped up three flights of stairs. As a senior with a knee replacement, I was not impressed. I know for a fact lower floor apartments were empty. For that reason alone I wouldn’t go back.
Rolling surf has been our family beach vacation for many years. Perfectly located right on the beach which is great for when you’ve got kids. The Roof top apartments are definitely a must so you can soak up the sun as you relax on your holiday.
Our family of 6 had a lovely stay. The three bedroom ocean view room was awesome. KIds loved the pool. Room was very clean. Beach towels for hire from reception which was good for only $2. We stayed with several other families so it was a bit of a pain having to ask them to let us up to their rooms but we understand why. All in all it was a great location. Portacot for baby and plenty of space. Appreciated little things like the clothes horse for wet swimmers etc.
Firstly, thank you to the house keepers for the cleanliness of our apartment when we first arrived. Immaculate! Rooms and service was great. The location is absolutely stunning! Staff is wonderful. Will definitely be back for another holiday. Definitely recommend this place. Everything is so close, walking distance to cafes, restaurants and the beach right at your door step with stunning views. Family friendly and just a great holiday spot for families. Thank you Rolling Surf staff. Have went above and beyond with expectations. We will be back!
We have stayed at the Rolling Surf several times over the years and have always enjoyed our stay. Unfortunately, we can't say the same this time. We were not happy with our room at all. The fridge was not cold and we were told that it would take over night to cool down because we put food in it? The washing machine was not spinning properly and our clothes were sitting in water at the end of the cycle every time. Our ensuite sink tap leaked after using it so the bench was always wet, the second room was so small that with the two single beds and bedside table in it, you couldn't open the cupboards to put your clothes in, so it was unusable. The people above us were doing renovations or repairs and we had to put up with their drilling. Constant screaming of young children in the pool every day that we were there. They wouldn't confirm if the wifi was unlimited and said they it drops in and out. Didn't work at all with the tv so we couldn't stream anything. Didn't even have FOXTELL only free to air channels. Should of had one or the other like other resorts offer so we thought that was pretty cheap considering that would be covered by the body corporate anyway not solely the resident unit managers. Overall, there were too many negatives this time so we won't be returning.
