First time to buy from here after a Chef recommended this place. Wow the salmon sashimi was so fresh and great price, ready to eat. Mooloolaba prawns seem very fresh but a bit more expensive than other places. Would have love to try the oysters and live mud crabs next time! Would probably believe this is a good place to get great quality fresh seafood in Sunshine Coast!
Absolutely love Rockliff, my favourite seafood shop on the coast and I’d never go anywhere else. Vanessa and the team have always been so helpful and accommodating to us over the years, especially on short notice at Christmas time. The service is first class and the seafood is just as good! Prawns, bugs, lobster, sashimi, you name it, it’s all delicious. Couldn’t recommend the place more highly. A wonderful family business and great reminder of why I love coming to the sunny coast.
My partner and I came in last Saturday after phoning in to ask if they had any fresh sand crabs, to which I was told yes. I asked if they had been frozen and was told no. So my partner and I came up to the store and bought 4 “fresh” sand crabs and 2 champagne lobsters. While we were there my partner spoke to a staff member about the sand crabs who also told us they were fresh. Firstly, the champagne lobsters were absolutely delicious! Sadly though, the sand crabs were not fresh and had clearly been frozen as the meat was stringy and dry and did not taste nice at all. We couldn’t eat them all so we threw them out. We’ve not been able to find fresh sand crabs in so long unfortunately, yet we’re told by businesses they are fresh. Very unhappy with the dishonesty.
We just bought 1.5 of prawns today that were ok , and a dozen oysters that had 6 very bad and off oysters , absolutely disgusted that a seafood place like this would sell that to anyone , food poisoning as it best . I’ve called and tried to explain to a lady but she wanted me to bring Back the full dozen for a refund and when I explained to her I only had a couple left that looked really off to just show her , she refused to refund us . How can i bring back the full dozen when we ate some ????? And she said I was abusing her when I was only trying to explain to her !!! Will not buy from this place again !!! I I’ve got my own business and if someone brings back an off product , I would replace it or refund it and apologise about it !!!!! Customer service is so bad no wonder there’s less and less people in Mooloolaba ! People will not come back after experiences like this ! Zero stars .
I have purchased fresh seafood from the shop for years. I recently purchased 3 packets of fish which were packed in ice by the shop attendant for a few hours before skinning and filleting.nThe fish did not smell or look fresh as they usually are.nI contacted the shop and advised, but they were unable to accept my complaint as genuine.nDisappointed to say the least, particularly considering the very high prices.
