Did a kayaking session at Fortescue bay on 29 April, 2024. It was an absolutely amazing paddle experience that I’ll never forget. It was my first time on a sea kayak and our guide was so helpful and friendly. The lunch that we were served was absolutely delicious and so much thought was put in to make the experience memorable. The location was fantastic with beautiful weather conditions that day. Thanks for an amazing day!!
The Roaring Forties Kayaking trip of Flinders Island is fantastic and highly recommended. The island itself is scenically beautiful, the accommodation is picture perfect and right on the beach, the food excellent as well as healthy and on our trip there was a great mix of time on the water and exploring on foot. The paddling was challenging at times but always tremendous fun, with our guides making safety a priority, and giving careful attention to weather, wind and tides. Speaking of our guides, what gems Tom and Rob are. Great fun, amazing attention to detail, very knowledgeable, lovely sense of humour and just all round wonderful human beings. Thank you both so much for a truly memorable week.
The seven day Flinders Island kayaking trip was fabulous adventure. We explored stunning coves, beaches, islands, and granite rock headlands both on foot and in the sea. Our guides Tom and Rob struck an excellent balance of activity, relaxation, time for swimming and snorkelling and taking care of us by cooking delicious meals. Their expertise and local knowledge was invaluable. Highly recommend this trip for people who want to get off the beaten track but enjoy a little luxury.
Beautiful day at Fortescue Bay exploring this incredible part of the world! Professional, friendly guides who made me feel very safe despite it being my first time paddling on the open water. Thanks to Roaring 40s for an amazing day out and a delicious lunch in an amazing natural setting.
I've just returned from Roaring 40's 8-day kayak expedition in Bathurst Harbour, SW Tasmania. It was a fabulous experience, kayaking and camping with also a few hikes, fully immersed in this beautiful landscape. Our guides Rob and Sarah were organised, professional and knowledgeable, and planned our itinerary to take advantage of a variety of weather, wind and tides throughout the week. The kayaks and gear provided were good quality, and the food was excellent and plentiful. Pre-tour communication by Roaring 40's was also good. A very memorable experience in this very special place!
Can really recommend, we were lucky with the weather but the overall experience was great. Our two guides Francey and Kane were so friendly, really knowledgeable & safety focused. They did a great job with such a big group. Fish and chips in the harbour on the kayaks for lunch was a bonus! The short harbour tour was good for all fitness levels - I'm 6 months pregnant and it was a breeze for me! : Big thanks guys
Wow as a local I can't believe I haven't taken a kayak trip sooner. We had a fabulous day leaving from the beautiful Fortescue Bay and paddling round to the gulch near the Candlestick. The seals and albatross were great to see. Our guides Tom and Sara were knowledgeable and great fun. Then across the bay for a really nice lunch. Roaring 40's have put together a great day out good gear great food and lots of local knowledge. Highly recommend.
We finally got to actually go on this trip after the weather didn't co-operate a couple of years in a row. This time we were able to be flexible with timing so we could go when the weather was good. Roaring 40s was great at giving us a refund if the trip was cancelled by bad weather or booking us in on another day. We had an amazing day. Damo was, fun, knowledgeable and great at communicating to the group to help the day go smoothly. And we were given all the gear and info we needed for the day. We had fun riding the swell, getting exercise pushing into a head wind before lunch, spotting sun bathing seals and a majestic sea eagle. We're keen for another trip!
We went on a kayaking expedition around Bathurst Harbour and. Port Davey, organised by Luuk and Tori and led by Josh and Francie. It was outstanding as an experience for people who want to actively participate in their trip which we absolutely did. All equipment is supplied and the guides fully cater for your meals. It is up to you to work with your fellow kayakers to load and launch craft, under guides’ guidance, to set up your tent and to pack your dry bags with your gear. All of this and paddling in an extraordinarily beautiful and interesting environment is an exhilarating experience. Thanks Josh and Francie for your skill, professionalism and unfailing good humour.
My friend and I recently had the pleasure of participating in an introductory kayaking course with Roaring 40’s, and we couldn't be happier with the experience. The introductory course provided a solid foundation, thanks to the expertise of Josh, our instructor, who was not only friendly but also incredibly attentive, knowledgeable and well-prepared. We booked ourselves for the advanced session a few weeks after that initial course but unfortunately, due to the unpredictable weather, half of the day had to be cancelled. Instead of simply rescheduling the remainder, the company went above and beyond by gifting us a full day's excursion. This gesture speaks volumes about their commitment to customer satisfaction and ensuring a memorable experience. Throughout the full day excursion, the guides Moran and Kane continued to showcase their experience and knowledge of the area, making every moment enjoyable, safe and educational. Their guidance allowed us to fully immerse ourselves in the beauty of the surroundings while feeling confident and supported. Overall, our experience with Roaring 40’s exceeded our expectations. From the initial course to the unexpected full-day excursion, every aspect was handled with professionalism and genuine care for the participants. My friend and I highly recommend this company to anyone looking for an exceptional kayaking adventure with friendly, experienced guides. Thank you for a wonderful time, and we look forward to paddling with you again in the future!
