Love this place. They do a half dozen dishes really well and the service is fun.... The lady who works there most nights calls me John Travolta whenever I turn up haha. Combination Ho Fun is a particular favourite and big portions.
ZERO should be the rating. One of the worst and most disappointing meals in my life. Could not eat it. It is NOT Nonya Malay cooking. It is muck. It is awful and I am very angry because it was my wife's birthday and we went specially for that. Hate restaurants that are not truly authentic. They should be sued. The table service was also inferior. Plating, napkins and service was inadequate . I write this to warn others who may want Malay cuisine. Do not go to River Penang. It is expensive and the food is inferior. My dish was No 64 and cost nearly $27, a prawn Nonya curry. It looked and tasted like a bowel movement.
Friendly service, prices are affordable for the average person. Usually order the BBQ chicken and always tastes great. Not a long waiting time.
Very good service and tasty food. We were after vegetarian food and they altered their menu and provided what we really needed.
Great food and service, the lady that serves us is always very friendly and we always come back for the Hainan chicken rice!
Poor service. Despite the great location and fairly standard pricing, the staff seemed to be trying to skimp on anything they could. Made for a disappointing experience.
