It looked a bit empty, we thought we just came at a quiet time but we soon found out why it was 80% empty. Even 2 hours later when we walked past it on the way home it was still mostly empty. Pasta was murdered overcooked and the sauce had no flavour, the steak had a funky taste to it and the chips still have the frozen taste to them with barely any seasoning. The best dish was the salad and only because of the dressing, the ingredients were not fresh! The only good thing about this restaurant are the waitresses. They went above and beyond but can't say the same thing about the chefs. Kid-friendliness: The staff assisted without us asking. Brought a child chair and crayons and a colouring picture.
I went to ‘Copper Grill’ without knowing it was renamed and was previously Ristorante La Roma. I was expecting a long wait time and bad food after reading the reviews but surprisingly the Veal Tortellini was great and the Pizza was good too! It was also served in decent timings ~15 mins wait. The only thing that bothered me would be the overpriced garlic bread only 4 small pieces. But other than that, we enjoyed our dinner! Service staffs were great!
I regret not looking up in google review. Right from the start service was not the best. The guy staff was nice and friendly where as the lady just too all over the places and not friendly at all. Ordered spaghetti and for the very first time it was just horrible. The spaghetti bolognese says steake meat cooked extra time but seriously how bad a spaghetti can be? When it arrived at the table it looked like vomit and the worst part was, it tasted like it looked. My partner without complaint went on with his meal and I was just concerned if he will get sick after eating it! The spaghetti that I order wasn’t too bad beside the over cooked noodle which looked as it they had cooked over night and the not so good looking presentation. We also had drink to start with, where they just served us with a filthy glass. In all honesty would never go back and recommend to anyone. Review will be updated if we end up with food poisoning…
Been here a few times before and the food is good. That is why we keep coming back in spite of the worst wait service in any restaurant ever. Though after tonight even the good food will never bring us back. 2 dozen oysters for entree between 2 of us. Sorry we only have 12 left at 7pm on a Saturday night. All good we will take the dozen. We finish a bottle of wine, takes an hour to drink whilst we wait for our entree. Very hungry now. The head waiter even kicked our wine bucket over. Though lucky for him the lid was on and he didn't break the bottle. He moved the wine rack to the other side of the table in front of the fireplace. Great way to keep a bottle of white chilled. Hopefully I can upload a pic. 3 times we ask 3 different waiters, would you mind checking where our entrées are and 3 times they disappear into the kitchen and don't come back. We will never come back
Haven’t been out in Broadbeach in a long time but decided to have a night out with friends and found La Roma to clearly have new owners and a fresh feel. Restaurant was packed but still got great service and the pizzas were delicious. Thank you so much. We’ll be back for sure!
I know and love pizza and I was under the impression pizzas were baked in a wood fired oven at la Roma. I found the pizza dough to be near raw and it was the complete opposite of the pizza dough I have in Italy every year. Like I said, I know pizza. And to top it off, the pizza in Italy where everything is expensive is about €8.50 or about $12, not an over-priced $28.50. Sorry to say, what a disappointment. The photo shown is of the pizza I had in Northern Italy.
Truly a family restaurant. Please be patient with the staff, they are doing their best as they are understaffed. Despite being under the pump, they were still extremely hospitable and the food was amazing. One of the best woodfire pizza & gnocchi I’ve had. Would definitely come back again and recommended for patrons with patience.
We are visiting from Melbourne and had 2 great nights here. Food was fabulous both times. We had both pasta and pizza. In addition friendly staff, great service and fabulous ambience. We ate lunch and dinner out every night at different places for a week and found La Roma to have been the best. 5 stars! Thank you . We will recommend you. Kid-friendliness: Child friendly.
Extremely disappointed with the experience I had at this restaurant. I have never written a bad review in my whole life but this was just shocking. I could see that they were a bit understaffed, and I feel so sorry for the girls on the floor as they weren’t being treated very nicely by management. Whoever owns this restaurant needs to really re-evaluate how they are running this business. After waiting 30 minutes to order, and an extra hour for our meals, we expected them to be of high quality. They came out at all seperate times, and I don’t think anyone on our table finished our meals. For the price that we paid for our meals, I literally cannot believe that we were served such poorly cooked and presented meals. To top it off, our table must have been given old versions of the menu, and we ended up paying almost double the prices for all of the menu items, which was so misleading. So disappointed- please save yourself the terrible experience of eating at this restaurant and go somewhere else. Hoping they can turn something around as they are in such a prime position on the main Broadbeach strip. Such a waste.
Renamed Copper Grill - I dunno… I want to start out by saying, the food was good. Not great - just good. We ordered calamari as an entre, then pizza and salad. The calamari - 10/10 - it has never seen the inside of a freezer. Pizza was also great. Until the salad came out. The Mediterranean salad is priced at $19, and If you wanted to add feta, it’s an extra $5. I expected a decent size, but we received our salad in an oversized mug - no joke. $24 for a small bowl of salad. Sent it back, We paid for what we ate and left.
