This place is a hidden gem. The food and service took us both by surprise and was exactly what I was after on this holiday- fresh local produce and it was. I had two lots of the oysters and I wish I ordered four lots. Then backed it up with the kingfish and it was perfect- fresh and local. We also stayed in the beach room here as well and was great. Recommend it.
We recently did a driving holiday around Tasmania and booked for my birthday a night at Risby Cover Boutique Hotel and Restaurant – as the next day we were doing the Gordon River Cruise the next day.nThis place is like a little fishing village property, our accommodation was a converted boatshed right on the water. The accommodation is like a little cottage – in a boat shed! The property itself has a restaurant which fits in with the boat shed and water theme.nWe had dinner here and found the food really brilliant, a good range and beautiful!nThe staff are really friendly and genuinely nice!nWe woke the next morning to a foggy cold morning, we were able to watch the mist on the water with the fishing boats as a backdrop it was really something!nA beautiful little place, and we will stay here again on our next visit.!
Absolutely amazing meal however the serving was very small for the price. Lisa was absolutely amazing, the hospitality from Griffin was awesome! They made up for everything else. We had so much fun with those two, they made our experience the best!!
We stayed across the road, and were recommended to come visit for dinner. I was dining at 5.30pm on Easter Sunday with the wife and 2yr old. The restaurant has an amazing location and looks great! The staff are very hospitable and friendly. 1st note was price is high so was expecting equal high quality gourmet food. The menu reads gourmet, but it wasn't quite there and the staff agreed on several parts of the menu being incorrect on ordering. Beautiful warm damper bread, Luke warm meatballs, perfectly cooked steak but small portion and the creme brulee was to die for. I always strive to be positive and really do feel it was a lovely meal, just a tad over priced. I would come back for that creme brulee and damper though. Thank you!
Dined at Risby Cove Restaurant last week. Lovely place, nice waiting staff, very limited menu.nnBUT how can a popular place run out of oysters at 6.30? They replaced the Trevalla with flake, replaced the crayfish pasta with prawn and scallop pasta.nWith such a limited menu and such a popular place could they not work out what is required before each night OR just print out a new menu to use that night. By the way, the food we did have was delicious.
