Really awesome pub, friendly staff and good atmosphere! Sunday roast was gorgeous, massive portion and wuiclly served. Great variety of beers too, proper quality pub! Sport on as well for those that enjoy it :
One of my favourite pubs ever. I love the Okell's Bitter. Never had a bad pint. I enjoyed the steak pie and chips for lunch - very nice indeed.
Not been back here for quite sometime but everytime i have been it has been great. Never had a meal in here so i couldn't comment on that but the beers are great and the outside court yard is awesome in the summer. Sometimes it did get very packed in the place and hard to get served but i have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the oldness of this place. Overall 9.5/10
Nice pub, haven’t been for a few years, not sure I would go back. The Staff are lovely and the beer was nice. But the toilets are absolutely disgusting. Even before you get down the stairs it absolutely stinks down there to the point I had to cover my face to try and avoid the smell didn’t work. They had air fresheners all over the place but it’s definitely not enough. It needs sorting out asap, that pub used to be chocker block but it wasn’t that busy when we were there even with the football on.
Last night was the first time I was back in the place for months. The staff are lovely and accommodating. I went for Liverpool debate club, ended up staying later for chess also a Monday night group Safe and welcoming and apparently a friend who loves it said the Guinness is great too.
Good selection of beers but missed out on 5 stars as only having 1 Okell's beer available on handpump. Apart from that, no problem at all.
A great city centre pub that reminds me of pubs in the City of London [the financial district]. Where there's never any trouble, the beer is decent, and while it has a steady flow of punters during the day, come the end of office hours, it rapidly fills up. It's not a place with music banging or karaoke. It has little corners to sit and chat. In the warmer weather, there's a seating/standing area out back away from the main road. Overall, a great pub, as a pub, should be for those who just want a drink and a chat.
It's still one of my favourite pubs in Liverpool. Great beer, great staff, and even on a cold Tuesday night, a lovely atmosphere. Took 2 visiting friends from Brighton. They loved it too.
Lively old-style pub, lots of real ales, wide range of daft ales and ciders. Small opinions for draft lager. Plenty of opinions via bottles lager. Very clean and tidy. Great atmosphere!!
Always a great welcome, one of the regular drop ins whenever we are in town socialising. Great place for a sunny afternoon with the courtyard between here and the lady of Mann being a great sun trap.
