Colour scheme and surroundings of this bar n grill are fitting. The staff at first seemed to be flat and not enthusiastic until they showed they cared for the young ones by providing a surprise birthday cupcake and song. The food was alright and it is clear that their specialty is the freshest meat in the area. The basting sauce is their signature part and it was quite delicious. This review was written on a Sunday night and perhaps the place is more impactful on a Friday and/or Saturday night. Overall, a nice place to grab a good quality steak/ribs.
Staff were lovely. The drinks were amazing the best part. But the food was a bit of a letdown. Pork ribs were so fatty more fat than meat and hardly any sauce on the ribs. The second meal was ok, but again, hardly any sauce on the beef ribs, the coleslaw on the side was awful. And potato mash was dry.
We booked for 6pm and were seated .... had to ask for a drinks menu and for water. We ordered a cheese garlic loaf to start Was lovely Ordered 3 cocktails .... very weak, and not well crafted at $19- a cocktail Premium pork ribs delicious meat but glaze fairly tasteless and not much of it. Small serve of coleslaw and the creamy mashed potato tasted like Deb, sorry to say. Eye fillet was not super tender and again small serve of slaw and Deb tasting potato Wagyu schnitzel great and large, veges ok and Deb again Desserts were good, Brûlée delicious Stick date puddings nice, but icecream tasted like Coles icecream. For the price and the hype about great beef and ribs, I would say this restaurant needs to lift its game in these areas mentioned
Service was great and location top notch, but the meat tastes like it was cooked the night before and lacked the marinades of a top 5 star restaurant, giving the meat a generic oily taste.
Props to the waitress for being so attentive, but considering that this is the beef capital of Australia I was expecting more Rockhamoton beef on the menu. The steak and ribs were nicely cooked however I was very disappointed in the prices which were equivalent to capital city Brisbane and Sydney. Considering there are other good better establishments at better value. We had the mixed grill
Disappointed. Couldn't eat most of my steak. Shouldn't take so much effort. Chef needs to learn how to cook a steak slowly to break down the fat and gristle. We were in and out in less than 20 minutes of ordering. Sides are tiny, so when you can't eat your meat, you also can't depend on your sides. I got a third of an edible steak and 10 chips for $38. Hubby got ribs, ribs, and ribs. Apparently a kilo??? Not likely. Closer to half a kilo. Ribs were good, but again, for a $60 meal you expect decent sides when the meat is not as expected. Wanted to give the place the benefit of the doubt even though the reviews are clear. But it was terrible. The three Stars are for the service; thank you girls, you were very attentive. Just don't go here. That's my advice
I went to have dinner with my friend last night. I had a good time just about a year ago so I was excited to have dinner here again.....when the food came out, I firstly noticed they used chipped crockery for condiment. It's dangerous not only for customers but for staff too. I didn't expect them to use that kind of crockery at the expensive restaurant. The steak I had was cold and even the garlic prawns on top of the steak were cold too. I had some of the pork ribs and chicken my friend ordered and they were cold too and didn't have much flavour.... I would expect more chips and salad on my big plate when it is so expensive. When I looked at my plate when it arrived on my table, it looked so empty..... I guess smaller plates should have been used so at least it would have looked decent portion. You guys could have been better.... Different management maybe? It was one of my favourite restaurants here....
First things first, the food was good. Don't get me wrong, it was good. But I've been dining at R&Rs since they were a single restaurant in Manly, and the food used to be incredible. So going from world class excellent to "good" is a bit of a let down. Then there was the service. Our waiter was chewing gum and had the attitude of a surly teenager asked to put the bins out. Our meals came in a timely manner, and they were good, but just good. After we finished, we sat... and waited... and waited... eventually the table was cleared by our gum chewing server, who then disappeared and wasn't seen again. We were all set to order coffees and dessert, but no one ever offered us a menu or asked if we'd like anything else, so eventually we just left. So the food was just "good", the service was lacking and the price was high. All in all, I'm kinda disappointed. Could have had the same quality at Hog's Breath for half the price with servers who smile.

Got seated pretty quickly here. Young staff that probably need a mentor on the floor. The service was pretty good, but the staff need direction. We believe the owner was walking around and probably needs to get the staff a bit more enthusiastic. Understand that Covid-19 was a hindrance so gave them a pass. The steak was okay but not great. There is a small side of salad and there is far to much juice running on the plate. We had to ask for water, that should be the first thing they deliver when they seat us. Will come back again, but the game has to be lifted.
