How lucky are you, the people of Kew. Joshua Hunter is a name you will want to remember, his food is incredible. Every flavour in everydish is there to be enjoyed. Food excellent, hospitality excellent. We wish you every success.
We were fortunate to be able to dine at this wonderful new restaurant in their opening week. It is a delightful room with a very friendly vibe from the team assembled by Patra, the co-owner. We know Patra from her time at Le Trompette and are so happy to be dining with her again. Unsurprisingly, all the team were super helpful, friendly & professional, making our visit a sheer delight. Her co-owner, Joshua sure can cook! The canapés, bread, starters, mains & desserts were all wonderful. We had the chicken wings to start, then for mains, the lamb & veal. My wife said that the veal was one of the best dishes ever & that Josh makes the best mash in the world. The wine list covers a good range of varieties & price points, with a decent range of wines by the glass. We asked Stefano, the sommelier, to choose a white & a red for us to match the food, which he did perfectly. The visit was made extra special with the warm, generous & friendly hospitality from Patra. We are BIG fans of this new restaurant & will be visiting many more times! Go soon before it gets too busy to grab a table.
A welcome return to Kew for Patra Panas and chef Joshua Hunter at Hawthorn. Having been regular patrons of The Glasshouse and La Trompette where Patra was the maitre d’, our expectations were high. I’m glad to say, in spite of it being their soft opening, things ran smoothly and the food was amazing. There was a good selection of vegetarian, fish and meat options to cater for all diets. We enjoyed our meal so much that we’re going back again this week to try the dishes we missed out on!
Had a really wonderful lunch! This is a real gem of a restaurant, a tiny walk from Kew station; which is so convenient for those of us who fancy a couple of glasses of wine with our meal, although I did notice there is parking right outside too. It's been newly opened in what used to be the lovely Michelin * 'The Glasshouse' and if they keep this standard I'm certain they'll get a star s very soon. I went with a group of family and friends and we all had a great time. The attention to detail is exactly what you'd expect from a fine dining experience but with an extremely reasonable price tag. Fantastic Wine list too. The food was wonderful, innovative, delicious and beautifully presented from the moment we received our complimentary canapes to the last morsel of petit fours. I did look around the dining room which was full and noticed that there was clean plates all round and that people were taking there time, really savouring the experience and having a really good time. I will definitely be going again in the very near future with other friends.

A Brilliant fine dining venue. Food wine and service all top notch. But then the team throughout have so much skill and experience to share. Anyone visiting or near to Kew are in for a real treat!
I had a fantastic meal at Hawthorn last week. The restaurant is really well located right by Kew station. The food was outstanding with service to match. Fine dining in a neighborhood setting lead to a great atmosphere and buzz throughout the meal. I'll definitely go back for dinner as the fixed price menu is really good value, especially when compared to similar style restaurants in West London.

The location is perfect for transport links. Just a stones throw from Kew Station. I was an intermittent visitor to The Glasshouse, one of Nigel Platts-Martin's former restaurants, and it was always delightful. Sad to see that close, but delighted that NPM Protegée Patra Panas has opened Hawthorn in its place - with a very similar vibe. The food here is superb. One of the best soufflées I've ever had - not that the starters and mains weren't delicious. Definitely Michelin Star quality food, although this place doesn't shout "trendy" and perhaps has a syllable too many in the name to get raved about? Service is impeccable. Wine buffs will appreciate the quality glassware and corkage option, although the BTG selection is excellent. Coming here, you're made to feel special as you enter an oasis away from the madness of the outside world. And the prices are remarkably affordable for this level of cooking. Treat yourself and get in while you can.
