Story

Built in 1929, the Elgin Inn has always been a popular watering hole to meet with friends and work colleagues to celebrate the special occasion. Renowned throughout the years for quality food, beverage and most importantly friendly service, we pride ourselves on ensuring that every customer leaves the Elgin having had a happy and pleasurable visit.

The Hotel has had a few small renovations throughout the years to get to where it is now. At the Elgin Inn our mentality has always been making these improvements organically so customers can enjoy a venue that is well looked after and that is always bringing something new. The most recent innovation was on the outside giving a new modern look to the venue.

Now, on the inside apart from our traditional bistro and sports bar on the first floor, we have created the Copperhead Road an amazing indoor/outdoor area on level two that is also used as function spaces.

The rooftop area is half undercover and boasts breathtaking city views, fairy lights, vintage finishes and a comfortable all weather rooftop bar. Sip and sup under the stars, or head inside for a cosy and classically styled indoor area with yet another exclusive bar, Chesterfield seating, TV screen and a small courtyard for smokers.
Copperhead Road is like nowhere else in town, with a speakeasy concept and décor that gives the place an amazing atmosphere.

Firstly, I don't do one-off reviews. if I write about a place I've been there at least twice, probably more. Elgin Inn is a pub, and you're getting pub-grub. What stands it out is the ambience, the quality of the food and the excellent service. You can enjoy the sports bar area with the numerous screens showing numerous sports, or the more private dining area or in summer the rooftop tables area. Great. The food is better than your standard pub fare, it's well prepared there's a very good range try the crying Caesar Pizza or the 350gm Black Angus rump! and it's delicious. what stands out is the service. Excellent. Very helpful, very cheerful staff whose focus is to make you enjoy your stay. Hope you get Anna - she's a beaut. Easily my favourite pub and a great place to enjoy a meal with the family - or with a mate watching the game. Will go back, as I always do. Vegetarian options: Great range of food Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids dining with family Parking: Limited, but a number of spots on main rd Wheelchair accessibility: Easy access fro door Dietary restrictions: No problem
Came down for long overdue meal since moving in locally. The parma was pretty lacklustre. Parma, pint and gravy sets you back about $43. I'd give the parma 6/10, could of been bigger. Gravy was 10/10. I guess it averages out as "just alright"?
Thanks for hosting our wonderful family get together last night. 18 of us from all over Australia gathered with our 98yo aunt/great aunt. Venue was perfect, accessible for her walker, food was brilliant...everyone was satisfied! The staff were so accommodating...Anna looked after us and the bar staff stuck around as we all enjoyed the catchup. Thanks guys. Excellent x
A bit older, somewhat standard Melbourne pub hotel setout. Great location, good food. Giving it 3 stars as it is not the most spectacular place. Great for a after business catch-up with mates for a few beers, and the tram/ train stop is next door
I heard the food is good now. Wednesday Trivia is fun. Good reds on their wine list. Must come back again.
Lamb back strap was nice, but a little small. The chutney they had with it was great. The pumpkin gnocchi was good however they used way way too much garlic which overpowered it and made it very difficult to eat. Not too bad, prices were a bit expensive and the portions were on the small side.
Great customer service and place was lively. Good for footy lovers as have so many TVs to watch it from. Good for families with kids and good kids meal option.
The staff are awesome, the food is excellent pub fare I would recommend this place for anyone having diner with friends, having bets and beers with mates or all of the above. Beautiful pub beautiful people.
Had dinner on 3/8. Absolutely wonderful place! Special mentions to waitress staff Anne and Alexa who were outstanding and very welcoming! Food was spot on! Will definitely be back to this place!
My friends come here weekly and love it. I went for the first time yesterday and loved it. My first parma at a pub was yum. I wasn’t impressed with my margarita but bf’s mojito was spot on. Anna is as sweet as everyone says.
