We were in Darwin on Holidays and came here with a large group including children and ordered shared plates. The food was hot and delicious, the service was great, and everyone left full and happy. Would recommend the bbq pork slices, crispy beef in garlic butter, the honey chicken, fried rice and definitely the Laksa!!
The food was tasty - my laksa was delicious. The service and aesthetic were very basic though. Ordering is at the table through a QR code. There seemed to be only one chef and one server on, so things were a little slow. I got my drink halfway through my meal, and ordered a San Pellegrino, but what I got was some carbonated water in a plastic cup. Overall, ok.
Food start coming after ONE hour since we place order. I'm Cantonese and tbh the food taste not so good and not local. And my friend order a fresh watermelon juice, however it tastes like they use the super unfresh watermelon. And they are short-staff, you better get water and soy sauce by yourself. And they put us wrong order too, anyway we pay the extra drinks and they bring the same food again to our table, spending more time to double check. I wake up early and come here with expectations now I'm really disappointed.
The food was good, but would be better if there were more staff in the front. Had to wait quite long just for someone to get second serve of rice and even to get more water. This was when it wasn't even too busy.
We went here after hearing good feedbacks about their vegan options. First of all the old lady waitress at the restaurant was not helpful or have the patience to explain what vegan options they have. She was seen busy and not willing to spend a minute with us at the table not sure how we can order without her guiding given the menu is unclear with nothing written as vegan , so we decided to switch the tables and the other middle-aged lady waitress was very helpful and tried to explain what we can order as vegan. We were happy and we ordered Vegan Laksa, Gado Gado without eggs and prawn crackers so it will become vegan and a noodle soup. After waiting so long for 40 mins we got our order and while we were going to eat Gado Gado we got suspicious with the yellow thing on it and we called and asked the waitress to find out it was "eggs", we were very disappointed with the way they cater for the customers despite telling them not to add. There was not an apology or explaining how this can be done better etc . We were just disappointed and we will never return here. Vegetarian options: This place doesn't cater for vegans as they will add eggs to the food which you told them to not add.
I had a very niece experience here. I'm on vacation looking around for a place to have coffee and breakfast. After walking down mitchel st. And passing many places I come to the end and what do I find. This place. It was just switching over to lunch. I ask for coffee, and look at a menu. It's the lunch menu and I really wasn't ready for lunch. I say I'll just have the coffee for now. Then the charming waitress tells me they are going into lunch, but if I wanted to order something from breakfast I could. So I did. Well the bacon and eggs and toasties were perfect. The place was so nice and relaxing. The atmosphere was perfect. It was great. I loved it. I'm full now, but I saw Laksa on the menu. I haven't had a good one since I left Hawaii a month ago. I will have to come back for it. You will have to try it too. You might love it too. Good tunes in the background.
Just ordered laksa through uber eats. Not a single vegetable, spring onion or chilli. Do these people know what a laksa is?
I celebrated my 70th Birthday in style at the Rendezvous Cafe in Darwin on Saturday 25th May 2019. The staff had allowed my friends to store a Red Carpet in the building and this was rolled out prior to my arrival. The staff were amazing, acceding to all our wishes and coping with a group of 18 noisy but friendly people. The entrees were served swiftly and there was an interruption for speeches and the like. When we had finished that, our main courses were on the tables almost immediately. All the food was beautifully prepared and served very well. It was really delicious! Their menu will cater for any taste. We partied well into the night. I have to hand it to Rendezvous Cafe for meeting an exceedingly high standard. You must try it.
Their Laksa is best in Australia!!!! Every time I come to Darwin, I go there and eat laksa!Food: 5/5
Very yummy~ we ordered three dishes for three people and it was more than enough. I would like to recommend the roast lamb~yum yum yum
