Very cool experience and amazing place visit. Cost about $90 for 2 adults and was a little less than the suggested time spent on the website. We finished the walk within 25-30 mins including the signs we read. They had a promotion offering the free dusk walk with entry. This is done through the phone number you give upon the first entry. There were additional trails that we also took after the walk with clearly marked paths. It is breath taking and looks like something from a film. My only suggestion would be to visit when it is less busy as the walks get held up with lots of people. You can only cross the bridges 8 people at a time in single file and if people are moving slowly, it makes it difficult to move along. It can also be hard to take photos when it is crowded. Additional notes.. bathrooms on site, gift shop and mini cafe selling coffee on sight. Masks were not required on the walk but were required in the gift shop.
In short this is a great walk. It's well worth the money but I would say if possible do it at night. I did it the next day as well and while it's still fun it is nowhere near as spectacular. Of course the advantage of doing it in the day time is that if you want to read the information panels at the stops it is much easier, but they are all lit at night so it is possible to read them still. If you go back within 3 days your second visit is free. Well worth it and I'll be going again at least a couple more times when I take friends over.
Stunning forest! It's definitely worth the money as you get to come back a second time for free - ideal as you need the daylight to see the redwoods and the nighttime to see the lighting display. A great, unique evening activity. Lovely ground-level walks to do, too. Can really make a day of it. Toilets could use a little TLC :
Excellent experience, best done at night - but queues can be long We went on a Saturday evening and reached at 8 pm. The night walk starts at 8.45 pm. We bought tickets and waited in the queue which had started forming already. Luckily we were in the first 20. By the time we started, the queue had become very long. The staff were exceptionally friendly and efficient. They ran a smooth operation, and made good use of even the waiting time. The experience itself was superb! Although there were a lot of people, the way they manage spacing between people / groups made sure that we were not rushed and could enjoy the attraction. Highly recommended.
The Redwoods Treewalk was one of my favorite experiences in all of New Zealand! The place was absolutely packed but once you got up in the trees everyone spread out pretty well and you didn't really feel like there were that many people around you. Just seeing the forest in a different light literally at night was absolutely amazing. The bridges feel stable, but I can see where they could make someone feel uneasy if they didn't like heights. There are also some areas where you can walk under them and seeing the layout of bridges against the Redwoods was a very cool sight as well. I highly recommend this experience if you like forests and adventures!
This is one beautiful forest! I was in awe of the giant trees and scenery including horses. Easy walking track for younger children and great toilet facilities which are at the entrance only I will come back on my own to do more challenging walks. Not wheelchair friendly. Mind passing bikes on road.
Booked the experience via Book me for the Night tour, it was amazing! As person scared of Heights going later in the night definitely helped me. The beautiful lights made this experience great! We visited on quite a wet and windy evening given since we visited during the winter months definitely will need to come back in the summer on a nice clear evening!
We had visited previously, but only during the day, this time we would do both the Day and Night walks. As you arrive on each platform you have given a short description of what surrounds you and it's history. It a great way to be part of nature and escape from the world we live in. We did our Day walk quite early so there were less people around and we could take our time with taking photographs and reading the plaques of information on each platform as we walked. After we really enjoy walking round underneath the platforms and experiencing the surrounding beauty. We felt underwhelmed by the Night walk as we thought all the platforms would be lite up, where on the last couple and the higher walk was. In saying that it is WORTH going round at night to see the lanterns and some of the surrounding area lite. Being we visited during a Public Holiday the queue was fairly long for the Night walk. At one point we heard that the wait time was approx. 90 minutes to enter the activity. There were movies playing on an outdoor large screen to entertain. Lots of children were playing the game spotlight with torches which seemed to be a big hit.
Went for the Nightlights walk on Christmas Eve. Had to wait an hour before we could get onto the ramp but it's understandable since there were so many people. Took us about 30mins to complete the whole route. Wonderful experience for the kids. As other posts had indicated, had to move pretty consistently as they only allow max 8 people on the rope bridges and 20 on the platforms due to safety.
The ticket price includes the day and night walk. The night walk is worth staying for, really well done and a fun experience. Nice trails all around the venue as well, and the park is a few minutes from restaurants and shopping. But the little gift shop and cafe on site are affordable, too.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNot sure
