Red Piggy is a hidden restaurant on Little Bourke St, between Swanston and Elizabeth St. We came in the afternoon, after lunch hours and there were plenty of seats available. We ordered fried chickens, durian chickens, Vietnamese yee mee, son-in-law eggs and panacotta for dessert. The eggs were our favourite. The rest were quite good but not mind blowing. For Fusion dishes, I must say that the price was very affordable. Each dish was about 12 to 15 dollars. You can order their tasting option so for$30 per person, you can try 5 dishes. The restaurant was quite cosy and they had indoor and outdoor seating. The staff were friendly too. Overall, it was a good experience.
I’ve been here on more than one occasion and I enjoy coming here for drinks and a bit of dinner. Love the funky interior of this restaurant and bar, it’s got a nice balcony area for warmer weather. It’s got some great Asian dishes such as curries and baos, and I’m also definitely a big fan of their cocktails.
Not terrible. Pretty nice fusion cuisine. Really rate the atmosphere and fitout. Food was decent and what you might expect from an establishment of this calling; Asian fusion. Happy hour seems decent and the seating in summer would be worth a revisit !
I really enjoyed this place the first time I went about a year ago, but it's seemed to have gone downhill. I tried the red curry on my first visit and it was wonderful, but this time it was much more thick in a bad way and the tofu was of a lower quality and the vegetables were not cooked enough. I was obsessed with the coconut rice on my first visit but this time it was gluggy. The veggie dumplings were the best dish, but they're hard to get wrong. Service was an odd mix. The person who I paid with seemed to be disinterested, while the table staff kept were overly attentive to their detriment. Three different people tried to take my order within about five minutes of sitting. At least the rooftop is nice.
Hidden in little Bourke with a conspicuous entrance tucked away on the third floor lies this Asian fusion restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seatings perfect for drinking during summer. Menu apparently are seasonal and changes from time to time. Portion sizes are a little small. The bao and croquette are good but the pork belly and the beef in peanut sauce are dry for our taste. Food - 5 Service - 8 Vibe - 10 Price - $$$
We went to Red Piggy during happy hour and started with cocktails. We opted for the $30pp for 5 dishes option on the menu which turned out really good. We got: - Wagyu Brisket - Yee Mee Noodle - Ko Moo Yang - Low and Slow pork belly - Slow cooked Lamb These were all really yum, nothing to really fault them. All of them were a little spicy so if you don’t like spice then I wouldn’t recommend it. The rooftop is lovely and the cocktails are great.
The food at Red Piggy is surprisingly great with a cute little court yard. I loved the curry! With some good food and drink deals to accommodate diversifying satisfaction. The service was prompt with some nice interior magical touches such as neon wings to flaunt your happy belly. Love this hidden gem x
Females aged between 20-35 with an Instagram obsession and a healthy sense of exhibitionism will make this the equivalent of their new dressing room - for there lurks a photo opp around every corner, due to the now-requisite neon signs sporting cheeky statements. The rooftop will be appreciated by city slickers like tapioca balls in bubble tea, you can never have enough and while the cocktails could use a bit more punch, offerings such as the lamb neck curry is decent meat suppleness is evident and appreciated and the prawn crackers eat like a naughtier fried version of a rice paper roll. Just make sure you don’t spend too much time photographing the latter or it’ll go soggy. The two dishes and cocktail equated to exactly $50 so don’t go expecting cheap eats in Chinatown - but let’s face it - the bells, whistles and future likes for your photographic efforts are also included. Fantastic Asian inspired food. Service was quick and friendly too. Interesting and different design aspects would be great at night time looking over the city. Awesome Gluten free meals too!
Not recommended, beautiful design but average food Had purchased voucher from Groupon and pick up half roasted chicken . For meal u can choose to have a drink which include wine as well. That is good deal. The sauce that given is too less and chicken is way too dry. As chicken not fresh I need more sauce to cover the smell of chicken however when I request for sauce they didn't told me is charged. Found out they charge $2 for sauce ... I don't know what to said
