Me and three of my friends decided to go here for our friends birthday. We waited in the line for two hours, ones we were standing at the door the security guard said we can’t go in because we don’t have any girls with us. I don’t understand how they can’t let you in because of this, so I pleaded with the bouncer saying please can we go in it’s my friends birthday which they can confirm from his passport and it’s our first time out in Melbourne. He said no the clubs policy is if we don’t have the same amount of girls as guys in our group we can’t go in. I just wish we didn’t have to wait for two on my friends first birthday in Australia to be told no we can’t go in. Anyhow that was my experience and for anyone else I hope you have a better night than we did. Peace
This place is impressive. Hidden away in a lane way off the main streets, the second you walk in the decor demands your attention. A pretty sweet set up. A great place to meet friends and just chill or dance the night away. A private room is available which is great, especially since it has it's own entrance so no chance of unwanted visitors. Good chance of seeing some celebs popping in
Wow this place is a hidden gem, we were invited for a corporate night and loved it. From the countries only Moet vending machine dispensing bottles of bubbles to the amazing espresso martinis and then the great canapes and sensational live music Duo. The decor is stunning and I could quite easily have stayed all night if I didn't have to go to the theatre. Annie and her team were so warm and welcoming and a huge asset to the company. I'll be back for sure, love it
love the place, love the service and drinks here. may need a few more standing table for those who can't book a couch due to their group size. this place is designed to promote couch booking. we had our staff xmas party here on saturday night 23 nov ... we must say the way we were treated was appalling. We paid nearly 25k to enjoy ourselves for all our staff and we were misled by the fact that the venue wanted us out at 10pm. We were never told this, we had in writing from them that we were allowed to stay on past 10pm. Come 930 nearly 60 of our staff members were not allowed back into the venue and left the party. We were treated with disrespect, and clearly misled ... all we wanted to was continue on at baroq like normal patrons - however, after taking our money, we were then told we need to be out by 10pm ... be careful when booking with this crew - who also own bond bar. Even though we got this in writing from them, still wasn't good enough. We definitely will not ever do another party with them or give them another dollar - to take our 25k and treat us like garbage by not allowing all our staff to complete the evening there, and then to try and force us to go to another of their venues is simply not acceptable and clearly a matter of interest to anyone considering organising a function there.
Went by last Friday for drinks. Fancy venue however misleading information from an online poster showing 2 for 1 drinks at 7-10pm and complimentary drink on arrival if you say a phrase at a door. People at the front door claimed that the complimentary drink was "unavailable", yet a few friends that came about 5 mins after me received it, bar tenders claiming different drink specials and different time slots. Friends were told different things depending which bartender they talked to. One friend was told it there was 2 for 1 and then was told after that the drink special wasn't actually on and ended up getting charged double. Very frustrating experience!
This place is not only stunning, but the food and drinks are amazing, and the staff are lovely. Had my 21st birthday here and they went above and beyond to make sure my family and I were happy!! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to host an event to have it here.
I have been to Baroq many times however this weekend was the first occasion that I hosted a private function 35 people there and overall it was an excellent experience. Many of my guests had travelled from interstate for the event and they were left suitably impressed with Baroq. The unassuming alleyway entrance leads to a venue with one of the nicest 'club' decor's in Melbourne. The DJ's were awesome as always and our private room was located in the perfect spot to give access to the D floor and the bar. Due to the prior planning there were no problems 'getting in' and our guests were afforded the VIP treatment they were expecting. I have no hesitation recommending this venue.
An outstanding venue, beautifully designed. Friendly and outgoing staff. Compared to other clubs I’ve been to, this one is defiantly well managed, which shows. 10 out of 10 on the Music
