Both my daughter and I have had colour corrections by Laura and Jodie. They are both incredibly knowledgeable and talented hairdressers - we both loved our results!!! Have also had numerous blow dries by them and also Ellen- the girls at Rebecca Oates are all so friendly and help each other with how to get the best results for the client. *** Tip I highly recommend a consultation as Laura went well above to make my daughters hair beautiful when I had booked incorrectly. I rarely review and even more rarely write negative reviews. But this was the worst hair experience of my life and it deserves a mention.  I left feeling like absolutely @#$"  I walked in with a request for a fringe trim. I was informed that if I already had a fringe it would be $10 to trim it.  As I was standing in front of her, she's a hairdresser and she could see my hair, I was surprised she was asking me that as a question "Well if you have a fringe, it's only $10 to cut it. Do you have a fringe?".  I pointed to it, explained yes I did and that I would like a little cutting to just create some shape in my fine curly hair that had just gone flat with weight.  She then said ok, fine it's a fringe trim, sat me down on the chair in a rush.  I had tried to pull out my Pinterest board to explain the shape based on an old cut, and ask for advice and the price if I wanted a proper cut.  She did not listen to one word I said about what I wanted. Maybe did two snips. I then asked for two more snips on the other side to balance the volume and she said that's something she wouldn't do. When I explained about the fact that cutting fine curly hair will lift my hair a lot and increase the volume on one side, she told me that wasn't correct and cutting a fringe wouldn't give me volume at the roots as that required styling FYI, wrong advice.  Then she told me if I wanted the cut I showed her, with a cursory glance at the screen, I needed to go to another hair dresser which she named before ushering me out. She paused briefly to ask if she wanted me to write the name of the other hairdresser down but it was all so awkward and uncomfortable that I just wanted to run out.  I wanted to buy olaplex products and get hair advice but the way I was spoken to, and treated, I just wanted to get out as fast as they were ushering me out.  Zero customer service. Zero interpersonal skills. And the hair advice was wrong. The two snips created uber volume which I wanted , but on one side, because she refused to do the other side or listen to what I said about my own hair, which I know well.  The two snips were actually fine. If she displayed some basic manners and actually did two more on the other side like I asked, I would have been ecstatic at a $10 basic fringe cut,  probably spent $100 on olaplex products and probably gone back.  Instead I felt like inconvenient livestock being ushered out   Never Again. At least I got the name for apparently a decent hairdresser, so Thanks for that I guess. ‍

I went in to get my hair coloured with a temp wash out color. Asked for medium brown and asked her to fix my fringe slightly. She hardly spoke to me the whole time and I came out with BLACK hair and a horrible unfixable fringe that I now have to grow out because she cut a whole chunk out of my hair. The treatment made my hair so dry and when I went back and asked why it was dry which usually these temp dyes are meant to do the opposite the owner told me that i came in with dry hair why would it get worse after going to a hair salon? A few months down the line, my hair is now red!!!? and I am still growing out my disgusting fringe. I will now have to pay lots more extra to fix what they have done and they are at least $100 more expensive than most places. I have gotten a whole hair and color for $100. They charged $150 for a fringe "fix" and a temp color. Owner was not sorry but tried to blame me and spoke to me as though I was an idiot. Uno stars!
