Fish and chips done right - Lovely food. Lovely service. Lovely atmosphere. The food here is fresh as, The batter used is amazing and the price is great. Tables scattered around the grass verge outside and often have live entertainment on Friday and Saturday nights. Byo or grab something to drink from the BWS next door. A hidden gem on the Sunshine coast!
Food was delicious. Have previously gone to The Spit in Mooloolaba for fish and chips but won't bother anymore, they're ridiculously busy last time we went there at 6:20, they were going to be closed by the time we got to the front of the line, we were advised and the quality has slipped over the years. The batter Ray Jays uses is amazing, the calamari was nice and soft and tasted fresh. Onion rings and sweet potato scallops were also great. Tartare sauce was delicious. Buy from here and drive a couple of streets to Alexandra headlands Hill and eat it there.
Awesome local place for fish n chips. Food is always quality, fresh and many options even for those who don’t like seafood!. Burgers are spot on, seafood packs are great to share and you HAVE to order the beer battered chips! Love it when they have the live music going too
Really disappointing experience. The fish in seafood basket for 2 was supposed to be whiting - it was not, nor was it fresh, barely a “seafood bite” size. The calamari was average, at best. The staff were pleasant enough, but food lacks quality, means we won’t be back. Sorry.
Good tucker! Had 1 chicken burger, 1 fish burger and medium chips with gravy. All for approx $33. The chicken fillets were appropriately defrosted, crumbed and fried, the buns were toasted and massive, stacked beautifully with heaps of veggies and moisture. Can't beat chips and gravy!
I’m not one to post reviews but I couldn’t not as I’m astounded they would sell this to someone. We spent $28 there and I will not support this business again and waste my money here, our order was meant to be ready within 10 minutes and we arrived in 5 - our food was already wrapped up & waiting on counter. My partner ordered fish and as for me, other than a potato scallop my only share of the food was the chips and as we drove off we opened them and every single one was absolutely soggy and there were brown chips with black on them scattered ALL throughout the box. I’m on my phone so cannot share a photo in this review but am going to share a photo of these chips in their gallery. We couldn’t turn around either as we had places to be. I do not like to write a bad review on someone’s business but I’m disappointed as I don’t understand why whoever cooked these would actually think that someone would appreciate this, or maybe they didn’t care and if so shouldn’t work in customer service.
Great Fish Burgers, very generous amount of crumbed fish and salad. I would have preferred a bun different to thw hamburger variety, didn't hold it all together. Chips were nice.Food: 5/5
Long time customer, and have alwats been happy, but am really discouraged by my last visit and am unlikely to return. No lemon supplied with fish. It used to be part of any fish order. I reckon if I'm paying $17 for a piece of Snapper, the least you can do is tell customers up front that lemon isn't supplied. When placing the order the young girl buggered up my order so had to pay two surcharges for using the EFTPOS machine I thought this was illegal so to have to pay it twice just because your staff member buggered up is a bit rich. Chips greasy and soggy. There are other fish and chip shops in the area that do a much better job. Disappointing.
Great fish and chip place, had the seafood basket and the barramundi + chips deal. Everything was fresh and delicious and they were generous with the chips. If we ever come back to the Sunshine Coast we'll be back!
Beautiful fresh barramundi and calamari, friendly staff, well priced as well Great place for a relaxed and tasty dinner
