Service was horrible! The waitress was so upset that we left 15min 10.45pm after the closing time 10.30pm. We even apologised for leaving "late". We tried to be nice and said goodbye twice but no response from the staff. Food was okay but I had better Indian food elsewhere before. All in all, never again.
This place used to be awesome but it must have changed owners recently. They don't appear to have a liquor lisence anymore and like the previous reviewer, the water bottle was dirty, the actual water had floaties in it. We ordered a spicy vindaloo and butter chicken with naan. Vindaloo was flavorless and the meat was fatty. Butter chicken was the same far too rich. Also not spicy at all considering I asked for it medium. Naan tasted like flour and was undercooked. Really disappointed!
Absolutely ridiculous! We placed an order through menulog and had it all confirmed. Waited 2 hours!!! Had a hungry toddler and myself getting hangry. Only for them to message us after that long of a wait saying they are unable to accept the order yet as soon as we placed the order we recieved a message straight away saying order was confirmed and gave us an estimated time I tried to call them not once not twice but FIVE TIMES! No answer at the restaurant. By then I had to make a quick meal for us. Once I did that, we get a knock on the door by this young lad who was very abrupt and fast paced. Not apologizing for being late. When I told him I had already sorted out food, he took the delivery with him and didn't even say anything. RUDE! never have I experienced such a muck around with food. I expected a courtesy call at the very least. Unprofessional.
I have been to Rang Mahal twice recently. Once was 'a la carte' and we were pretty happy with the food and thought I could have this as a regular option. The second time we took up a Scoopon deal and that is when it all went downwards. Starting from the entry in the restaurant, it seemed all inauspicious. I was told that I did not have a booking inspite of having had booked 2 weeks in advance. Eventually they accommodated us when I expressed my displeasure. The food that followed was at best below average and I had to keep on asking for what I was entitled to as part of the deal. Sample this, it took 4 requests and 15 mins to get our drinks they only came after we finished our mains. I was so over them that I am not even sure we got served the right amount of food that was due to us. The standards had clearly dropped not only in terms of the food but the service and we felt as second class citizens being granted a favor by the restaurant. Please dont offer deals if you cant honor them gracefully.
I have given 2 stars as the food was nice, but the service I received was appalling, I tried to pick my food up and the had the incorrect address on every available website, not only did I waste my time looking for it when I called the directions if you could call them that were, near beecroft road, beecroft road is not a small road mate. Once I looked around enough I found an Indian restaurant not with the name Rang Mahla but Curry lovers how in the good lord am I meant to know you have a different name then what you advertise online.
Ate here the other day and was so disappointed. I remembered their butter chicken was really good but this time it was watery as buggery. No taste at all! Also ordered the samosa and was puney! Also had a Coke, I did not think I could say anything bad about soft drink but it was not cold from the fridge AND it was flat! No bubbles. C'mon.... The only good thing was the cheese naan. Cya.
Although it was a slower weeknight, service was poor if not nonexistent. Curries tasted as if they were made from the cheapest ingredients available and had a distinct pumpkin-y aftertaste. Unfortunately won't be going back, there are far better curries in the area for the price point.
We had the most enjoyable night out at Rang Mahal Epping tonight. Truely wonderful service and amazing food. Will definitely return with friends and family. Recommend the Butter chicken and Tikka platter - better than we've had before. Thanks so much. Mardi
Good atomsphere, friendly staff and good seevice. Foods are good, tried 2 different kinds of curry.Desserts are good, too. Value for money. Hidden neighbourhood gem.
Went to this restaurant earlier in the year as part of a GroupOn deal. $29 dinner for two. The restaurant had an issue with the Water Supply so was unable to give us ajug of water. The food was mediocre and nothing to shout home about.
