Absolutely horrible student support and the scheduling is a mess. Absolutely horrifically disorganized. No graduation dates announced for a ceremony in July, making it so hard to organize international parents to come over for it. For placement planning, they are cancelled and change with little to no notice, although the WILS office is helpful when you contact them the scheduling is so disorganized. The class schedules for nursing students are sporadic with mandatory exams during 0 week and time tables that change weekly. Have on multiple occasions shown up for exams only to be cancelled on and delayed by multiple hours/days, including one that was scheduled for 8 am where they gave no notice until 8:20 that it was rescheduled for 10 am- no apologies or reason given. I have attended and graduated from two other universities, and enjoyed my time at both however, QUT has been an absolutely appalling process and I would have transfers ages ago if my visa was not connected to it. 0/10 would not recommend the nursing program or university to anyone
Beautiful campus, clean and tidy. Parking is an issue here but there is a bus stop near the campus that goes to City, Chermside, Carseldine, Aspley, McDowall, Ashgrove, Albany Creek and Mitchelton
The worst uni experience I’ve ever witnessed. My poor partner struggled for 3 years in her nursing degree. No help from lectures, no help from advice teams. All automated replies. Old policy’s that they have obviously had for years that need updating. It’s like they want students to fail. Disgraceful. Just cause they are a big uni, don’t assume they are the best
A great small campus built with a village aka shopping and eating centre. A range of student accommodation options, a good library and a pleasant, leafy location make this area enjoyable to stroll around. Also has very good transport links to the city and to the north and north west suburbs.
This is the campus I studied at QUT, Australia. In the picture, you see is A Block where the Faculty of Education is located; especially most senior academics and officials are there. There is block B next which is also our Faculty. This picture is taken when I was going out of the Canteen towards our Faculty.
When I first started the Bachelor of Social Work Degree, I felt excited to take my education to the next level by using my diploma for entry. When time rolled on, things began to go downhill amidst the intense COVID lockdowns, virtual online learning was made mandatory, student culture felt more hostile and toxic, Humanities faculty was overworked and understaffed; oh, and if you needed to see a support worker, you had to book weeks in advance, if not longer. Kelvin Grove and Gardens Point campuses are nothing short of opinion when it comes to delivering course material that's purely based on Marxist Left-Wing Ideologies including Cancel Culture, Virtue Signaling, Identity Politics all in the name of 'POLITICAL CORRECTNESS'. Even if you fail one assessment criteria and manage to narrowly pass the rest in all your subjects, you are bound to automatically fail overall and get excluded for one semester. When it comes to providing online feedback on your study experience at the end of semester, they're more likely to ban any profound comments made by students who had an unpleasant experience deemed too offensive to publish. If you are wanting to study either a Bachelor of Social Work, Human Services or Psychology degree, look elsewhere and don't be fooled by all this hysteria that goes on around campus.
Nice school I love there
My favourite gym.
A very nice place for students learning.
The Kelvin Grove Campus is well maintained. There are adequate amenities and the University prides itself on offering a mixture of theory and practical elements. The Masters of Counselling degree is extremely engaging and the experience has been invaluable.
