Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) is Queensland's entertainment destination and the leading presenter of performing arts in the Asia Pacific. Located on the banks of the Brisbane river, QPAC is one of four organisations that make up the state's Cultural Centre.

We attended an evening with Phil Rosenthal. The theatre was at capacity, but it wasn’t overwhelming.nnWe came a little early and there was plenty of parking immediately downstairs. We also ate at one of the cafe and the food that arrived quickly was delicious.nnThe staff were all very professional and friendly.nnThis was an easy and enjoyable evening of food and entertainment.

QPAC is a wonderful theatre that hosts diverse shows all year long. A great location - so easy to access via public transport train station is literally across the road and so many places to eat and drink within a 2-10 minute walk. Staff are always friendly and helpful, theatres are well maintained and we always have a great time when we visit.

I had the absolute pleasure of enjoying a QPAC Guided Behind the Scenes Tour with members of the Carseldine Probus Club on Tuesday the 17th February 2026.nWe were met at the front entrance by Helen a wonderful staff member from QPAC who then introduced us to our guides Gary and Amanda for the morning tour of this magnificent venue.nFor anyone wanting to take the opportunity to visit QPAC and enjoy the excellent guided tour with wonderful commentary included you can do this by checking out their website.nnThe Queensland Performing Arts Centre is a premier cultural hub featuring five main venues: the 2,000-seat Lyric Theatre, the Concert Hall  home to the Klais Grand Organ,the Playhouse, the intimate Cremorne Theatre, and the new 1,500-seat Glasshouse Theatre opening to the general public on the 7th March 2026.nQPAC hosts major musicals, ballet, opera, and concerts with upcoming live performances of CATS, currently being performed. Other live performances coming soon are Beetlejuice and The Last Ship in which the world renowned singer/performer Sting being the main character.nnThe behind the scenes guided tour was outstanding with Gary and Amanda doing a brilliant job. QPAC is celebrating 40+ years of being a venue which in some eyes is the best in Australia.nThe person responsible for putting the design together was really a wonderful forward thinking individual.nI was most impressed by the excellent set up of how all the stage props and other pieces of equipment, including how the costumes are fastidiously put together the behind the scenes staff play an important role in ensuring everything goes to plan.nnThe Queensland Performing Arts Centre is ideally located right across the road from the South Brisbane Railway Station.nThe Cultural Bus Station is within easy walking distance and if you wish to walk from the Brisbane CBD you can enjoy a walk across The Captain Cook Bridge or the Neville Bonner pedestrian bridge from the Queens Wharf precinct.nnI look forward to enjoying a live performance in this heritage listed cultural hub and with the Glasshouse Theatre opening up next month there are plenty of options available for everyone.

Went and watched Cats. We really enjoyed it. The venue has different theatres so please make sure you know which theatre you going to. There are numerous bars near the entrances of the theatres and different floors.nI can suggest getting to the venue about 90min before your start time because there are crowds of people arriving. This will prevent you from feeling rushed and reduces stress levels. There are various bistro and outside eateries to have pre drinks and a light meal. There is even a venue for high tea and canapés.nWhen it comes to parking, I would suggest going to P1 or P2. You will need to use Google maps or Waze to find your way. It could be a little challenging for a first visit. Travel down Grey str and pass QPAC on the right. Drive toward the museum and then turn right and drive back on yourself toward P1.  Follow the blue P1 signs. Parking is $18 for the day and it's card only.nnEverything is wheelchair friendly.

It was a wonderful experience, and I believe we were fortunate to attend one of the final Beetlejuice performances. Parking upon arrival was satisfactory, though departing the venue involved a slight delay. For future visits, it might be beneficial to park closer to an exit to facilitate a more timely departure. I would be delighted to attend another show.
