Loved going to Queenies, it WAS something special. Took my daughter today for her birthday but alas?! In the last month or so the Tea house has been rebranded - it's become another boring characterless organic BROWN coffee and produce shop. All the 1920's glamour is gone, replaced with dull khaki and brown. Apparently they still serve tea, it was closed today but the produce shop was open. It's just not the same. Asked other local store owners [just in case] - Queenies is definately closed forever. After a many, many years as one of these best tea houses in Brisbane, it's tragically gone. Very sad day for it's former clients. Obviously the owners are taking a punt, hope it works out for them but we are very saddened at the loss of Queenies. What annoys me is that the website is still up and business pages tell me Queenies is open!
Went with friends to celebrate a birthday and whilst the tea selection was extensive & the food fresh & tasty the service was somewhat lack lustre - never been out to dinner & been told what I would eat as they were too busy to let me choose won't go back again
Fantastic tea. Horrible coffee and chocolate. So drink only tea there!
