Came here on Labour Day. Had a pizza and seafood tower. Food is ok. Was informed that the wait for food can be up to an hour, and that was at 3pm. Shows how popular this place. Nice view of the harbour from the deck.
Service was fantastic, very friendly staff. My wife had a Slip Wharf cocktail which was excellent and Bar girl recommended a Balter Easy Hazy. Very nice. Food left a little to be desired. Took a while to come out. We had the Seafood basket..maybe it sat awhile as chips weren’t crispy and there seemed to a lot of calamari and not much else. View of the harbour from upstairs was fantastic and a very nice atmosphere.
The Queens Wharf Hotel is a venue that always seems to deliver better than expected quality and value. The view over the river and port entry Nobby’s Heads is unsurpassed, the staff are fantastic and extremely eager to please, and the food is excellent value for money. Their good selection of beers & wines is another selling point. Definitely a place to consider for your next visit to the Newcastle foreshore.
Stopped by this place for a break on our way back to Sydney and couldnt have asked for a better plan. Had a few rounds of juicy oysters of different varieties. Pair that with a great view and time passed quickly just like that. Wish we had more time to spare so that we could be there longer. Fresh local beers available from the taps for those who aren't driving!
Had a Seafood platter, was very looking forward but all fresh seafood are not fresh which you can smell it straight way! Some are off. We complained but they firstly offered some drinks and desserts for a $140 seafood platter! Half of the value of the patter is from the seafood and they want us forget about the seafood, which is absolutely unacceptable. We insist to get some refund from the seafood because we can’t eat those seafood. Finally, we received $40 refund which is about the market value of the seafood told by the waiter. This means we paid $100 for salads and deep fried. Very unpleasant experience for our holiday. Hope this can be improved.
I went for dinner with my daughter - The waiter was very rude! Asked him for an orange juice with no ice - he yet put ice in my drink and when I reminded him of the order, he started using his finger to block the ice while he is pouring the juice in a new cup. I asked for a new drink as I won’t drink something, he put his fingers in… he was angry and rude, saying he has clean hands and added that I won’t be serviced at the bar again. For management please check your cameras at bar on Monday 26th Dec 9:05pm - I added a photo your rude waiter.
Great pub right on the water. Good food, good range of beer and good service.. Highly recommended
My sister took me here for lunch yesterday after a weekend away before heading back to Sydney. All our food was hot fresh and delicious. A great view of the harbour. Live music downstairs. A special shout out to our waiter Jordon who made our experience even more pleasant.
You can't beat the location. Great atmosphere , live music and a cold beer .
We passed through here on a post-late-breakfast walk......the weather was perfect and we couldn't help but be lured in by the classic Aussie pub tunes. Had to stay for a couple of refreshing beverages, could of stayed all day. Will definitely be back.
