Great cosy farm, many animals for kids to feed, a fun playground, close to town centre about 4mins drive. Superb hosts. Rooms need some touch up but nothing lacking. Had a good time.
Been coming here for 12 years now, never disappoints. Hayrides are awesome, animals are caring, cool and friendly. Very family friendly. The view from the valley cottages is awesome and breathtaking. Would recommend to anyone who likes outdoors, animals, tranquility and photography and the average Joe, to come here at least once. *few bugs, need to know how to start a fire* other than that you’re living the life. When Farmer Mark does his celebrity hayride… you are in for a treat. Nearby activities: Big brook dam, Augusta Caves e.g. Jewel Cave and Mammoth Cave Noteworthy details: Few bugs, need to know how to start a fire
We recently had 3 nights here. It’s great that the kids get to interact with the animals, the farm setting is beautiful and the tractor rides each morning are a highlight. The kid’s playground and flying fox was also A+ That said, the cabins are in need of an update. I don’t think anything including carpets has been updated since the 1980s when they were built. After checking out of Pump Hill, we checked into a nearby similar mud-cottage business and stayed in for 2 nights. The accommodation was worlds apart - the other accommodation had hot water, was better maintained and just felt like it had been given some TLC, while still retaining its rustic charm. At Pump Hill we unfortunately had to shower and try to wash dishes in tepid water, which isn’t fun in the middle of a Pemberton winter. We didn’t shower the kids at all because it was so unpleasant. The farmhand came on the second afternoon at our request and changed the gas bottles, but this only resulted in a couple of degrees warmer water. Basically a lovely setting that just needs some $$$ spent on maintenance and hot water!
Just the best way to get away from the city and reconnect. Cabins are rustic but well appointed, with a fireplace to keep you warm and a fire pit outside for toasting marshmellows. Kids loved the hay ride with farmer Mark every morning. Kids didn't want to leave, and were asking when we could come back. Best of all the TV wasn't turned on once. Nearby activities: While you are here make sure you take a trip on the Pemberton Tramway.
First time doing farm stay in Perth. Pump Hill was Recommended by local friends living in Perth. It was a long drive from Perth City with a stopover at Margaret River. Reached Pump Hill after 6.30pm which was already dark by then but the trusted GPS brought us safely to the place. Managed to settle down at the cottage for the night. Spectacular view the next morning. The 3 nights stay were very much enjoyed by my kid as he had exclusive feeding to all the animals at the farm, from cow to rabbits. Great experience for the young.
The cabin could do with some serious maintenance and needs a good clean, including cobwebbing around the cabin. We use to come here a few years a go and previous owners use to light fire before our arrival to make room warm and cosy. The fire door was very dirty, we arrived to a very cold and dreary cabin. Took us ages to get fire to warm cabin. We didn't once see the owners on our weekend there. So not a very welcoming place anymore. We won't be back. Such a shame.
Amazing place to stay, such a fun farm stay. Very friendly animals, and a great playground for the kids. The rooms are great , and the staff very friendly. Very scenic location, and very tranquil. We loved the morning hayride, that was a lot of fun . Also loved all the carrots and apples they give to you to feed the animals. Only thing to note is that they don't have TV reception, and some modern devices won't work with their TVs... But that's a small gripe, the kids and adults can live without it for a few days. And they have DVDs in the reception area. We will definitely come back!
The best farm stay I have stayed at for animal interactions. The morning tractor rides are great for the kids, you can go into the animal pens and a lot of the animals are free roaming throughout the day. It's quiet and picturesque. They have plenty of animals to pet and feed and the kids can collect eggs in the morning. The mud brick chalets have everything you need. They are a little old and a bit on the dirty side so could use a bit of a Reno and clean up to get rid of the cobwebs. Great spot to go with hiking or mountain biking trails nearby, with a mix of easy to expert trails.
Beautiful farm just a few minutes from Pemberton centre. The property is beautiful, rustic and filled with friendly animals. Farmer Mark gives a hay-filled tractor tour feeding the animals daily at 830am which is fantastic. Yoga Gwen is lovely and has a wellness yoga studio where classes can be booked. You can chop your own firewood, have a drink on the picnic benches overlooking the horse paddock, put down the mobile and just unwind and relax : my friend and I loved our stay, thank you! Suitable for all ages, not just young families.
A perfect stay for the entire family. Chalets are well kept and stocked with necessities, even a BBQ. All chalets are very close to the animals. All animals are loved and very well looked after. You can feed them any time you please. There is also a large playground for the kids with a trampoline. Best part of the stay is the morning hay ride on the trailer pulled by a tractor with Farmer Leon. He is brilliant with the kids and let us all feed the animals. Will definitely stay there again!!! The kids were sad to go
