We were there around 2pm on Saturday. We still needed to wait for few minutes to be seated. I can’t believe that they were still full at that time. The wait staff was quite attentive. The Beef bun was the second best that I’ve had so far in Australia. The amount of food was huge. We were full and still had to ask for containers to take the leftovers home. Iced coffee tasted like the ones we had in any other Vietnamese restaurant. They have free homemade drinks, sweets, and they gave us a cupcake each when we asked for the takeaway containers. So it’s definitely a 4 star service and food. Remember to book a table to avoid waiting time.
Wow amazing I love this place! My partner and I are big fans of Vietnamese food and usually head to Springvale but decided to try this place out as ratings were good. We ordered the lemongrass chicken, mixed pork chop and Lemongrass beef noodle salad. All dishes were tasty with a very generous serving size. The food came out pretty quickly considering how busy the restaurant was and when asking for anything additional like water and chilli it was brought out promptly. Another extra is a waitress saw my 3 year old daughter and gave her a free juice box which I think was so sweet and randomly gave us a scented candle. Overall the experience was great, good atmosphere, amazing food and overall good service. We will be back thanks.
I don't think that if I call Proud Peacock one of the best Vietnamese restaurants in Melbourne then that would be an exaggeration. The food tastes amazing, quantity is abundant, service is quick, restaurant is clean, the decor and the ambiance are unbeatable, and the location is great. So why did I rate it 3-stars only? Well, one thing that restaurants must be careful about is that they don't compromise with hygiene factor specifically during times such as COVID. We were served by a young girl who possibly was the daughter of the owner. I noticed that the girl was eating while serving food. She also had her hand too close to our salad while it was being placed on the table. Having food in mouth while serving others is a strict no-no. I hope the restaurant takes note of this. Would we go back to the restaurant? Of course we will!
This place has the best South East Asian dishes in the Melbourne! Staff are friendly and the place is popular that always has people waiting in line on weekends! Portion is big and good for family. Really authentic taste with reasonable price. Recommend to try!
Dishes are very generous in size, price point matches that. Delicious in flavour I must say. Only giving 3 stars as service is lacking. I had a 6:30 booking but was still waiting for more then 10 minutes for a table - even when we were seating you must order through a QR code but pay at the front counter. There was a 45 minute wait for our first entree to come out but then mains followed quickly. Highly recommend booking as even at 7:30-8 there was a line of Atleast 8 people
Absolutely wonderful food and experience at this well equipped restaurant. Had the most wonderful vegan keto meal, fresh, whole veg not offcuts, filling and satisfying. Staff were so friendly, treated us like we were family. The restaurant was also very nicely set up. Thank you so much, will come back soon.
Massive servings and really nice decor compared to many other Vietnamese restaurants. We came on weekday lunch and it was surprisingly busy. Luckily we were still able to get a seat without lining up. The broken rice was delicious - it would feed two people 2 eggs, 2 pork chops. I would recommend sharing dishes here e.g rice, pho, sides instead of ordering your own dish. There's also free punch, sweets and ice-cream near the front of the restaurant. Kid-friendliness: High chairs are available. Parking: Street parking around - not necessarily infront of the restaurant but there are many shops around and small carparks outside that are 2 hours.
I will recommend this restaurant 100%! Maybe very tiny bit of MSG, which is helping to bring up the flavour, I wouldn't mind that! The owner is so generous, and offered so much meat in the pho bowl and juice & lollies. Gluten free menu is also available. I will definitely return.Food: 5/5
Went here because of recommendations. Place was packed on Sunday lunch time. I didn’t book but rang before I came to make sure we can have a table, they said lots of tables are available. When we came we had to wait for anyone to seat us, there were staff up & about but they somehow ignored us. When finally seated, we got this small room with long table to share with another group, after seated, more people come to join that group so that became quite cramped and the group choose to leave, which is fair enough, it was quite cramped. We ordered dishes to share, so tried their coconut rice, lemongrass basil chili chicken, salt and pepper eggplant, and char kway teow. Their portion is quite big, so is the rice. $6 for one big bowl that can easily feed 4. Their lemongrass basil chicken was the star of the dishes today, the sauce was just beautiful. Their other dishes came rather late that we finished the chicken dish already. Salt and pepper eggplant came with dry noodles thing, but to me it was a bit bland. Asked for chili oil but it wasnt hot at all. Char kway teow has nice seafoods and chicken in it, but quite sweet and a bit lacking in taste. We couldnt finished the dishes, so with $20 pp it was not a badly priced lunch. Would love to come back to try other dishes.
Great quality food and adore the presentation! Really wowed the table. Wonderful spread of flavours and everyone would be happy to return. Definitely a winner!
