We had a great experience tasting a range of gins at Prohibition. We loved listening to the stories behind each creation as well. The tasting paddle is the best way to sample a range of gins, and you can get up to 4 gins on the paddle. There were a range of gin based cocktails as well. The place had a great vibe, and we had a very relaxing afternoon sampling gin.
It’s a pity that there’s not a higher rating than 5 stars , because I feel that this place needs one ! Staff friendly and welcoming - great recommendations. Definitely has a very chilled vibe - so welcome on a hot summer’s afternoon! Extra thanks to the friendly Victor , who went above and beyond in time and effort . His enthusiasm was very infection and he obviously has a great love of the product . The new Juniperous Gin was amazingly smooth and my friend and I both loved the baked Brie with the honey and walnut snack . My friend who isn’t a drinker was also happy that there was non alcoholic beverages for her to enjoy while I drank my flight . Prohibition is a wonderful showcase for South Australian Gin .
Prohibition Liquor Company is a great place to drink, eat and catch up with friends. Obviously gin is their focus but they have other drinks if that's not your thing. Their tapas, slider and toastie menu has great variety. There's the cellar door, a cocktail bar and a coffee shop.
We had the best server ever. Victor had awesome product knowledge and was very enthusiastic which made the experience great. The other staff were very friendly and we were seated straight away even though the place was super busy. One of them suggested the baked brie and omg that's a must have. Definitely not sharing it next time.
Quite disappointed in the whole experience. Waited for 20 mins to be seated, and then they also hadn't put aside a spot even though we had reserved. Luckily there were still other spots available. The waitress spent a loong time explaining the tasting flights - which would be good if it were informative except it was more about what she did and didn’t like because she kept forgetting the information. Another group started singing happy birthday and she raised her voice and said “shut up I’m talking!”. A lot of swearing through her explanation too, which seemed unprofessional as well as to the extent it would be uncomfortable even in a more casual setting. Waitress recommended 3-4 dishes for a main meal for 2 people. We ordered 4 + a side and were still starving. Needed to cook more food once we got home! When you spend over $50 on food you expect to at least be satiated, not hungry. Lamb was pretty average and kale chips were super salty. The rest was good and all came out fast. Understand the vibe they’re going for, but wouldn’t want to go in winter. Even in spring weather with the heaters on everyone still had their coats on! Food also got cold quickly because of it. The gin’s were nice. We know you don’t need a large amount of a mixer for tastings, although unsure why we were only given one to share between the two… The booking locations online also weren’t very clear without needing to research each place, glad I didn’t accidentally book the maclarenvale! After this we definitely won’t be back for the food, and because of the service probably not for drinks either.
We had a great experience doing the cocktail making workshop at Next Door which is part of Prohibition. Danny was passionate and knowledgeable and made our time there fantastic! Good value, great venue and quality gin. Would encourage people to book in or even just go for a few drinks. I know we will definitely be back!
Sat in on a gin cocktail making session thanks to an SA Great State Voucher. What a fantastic tourism offering! The staff running the session we're very engaging and the quality of the class was excellent. Such a great place to visit and enjoy.
Held a Hen's Party here for my beautiful sister in law to be! The food, drinks and customer service provided was amazing and Shannon and the team made the process so easy! Highly recommend these guys for events! Or even if you want a chilled out drink with a group of friends! Thanks again guys!
We participated in an intimate Cocktail Making Class, hosted by the team from Next Door Cocktail Bar & Prohibition Liquor Co. We were greeted with complimentary Gin & Tonic on arrival. Such a bespoke venue to enjoy the finest of Gins. Our host Danny guided us through the process of making two special gin cocktails then enjoyed our own made gin cocktails with an antipasto platter. Our class included take home cocktail recipe cards to recreate at home. We also had a tour of the Gin making room where Danny proved he was very knowledgeable about their Gin products, then finishing off with a taste of the to be released Blood Orang Gin. We will definitely be back for more.
Had my birthday party here and it was amazing!! They had an amazing drink selection, the staff were so lovely and kept me updated with how the bar tab was going. The food is great but my only recommendation is to get other food with the pizzas, as the pizzas are thin based. We had the back area which I was afraid we'd have a lot of people walking through for the toilet, but it felt like we had the whole back area to ourselves. I would highly recommend if you love gin and are celebrating well anything
