Great staff; pharmacy staff are extremely helpful with regards to locating and/or ordering specific medications, and the other staff give great recommendations for perfumes, skincare, etc. AfterPay now available in store, which is very convenient. Overall, good service.
I reluctantly have to make a complaint about the pharmacist Samarah. Yesterday when I went there I was denied cough syrup with Guaifenesin, a totally safe and effective medication, because I did not have, specifically, "a chesty cough." What I had was nasal drip and coughing from that, and I am well within my rights to request this over the counter, non-pharmacist advice and non-abusable cough syrup, I ended up getting a cough syrup with Guaifenesin and Bromhexine from the pharmacy down the road with no issues at all, and my cough is solved today, the next day. Today I went in with a script from my psychiatrist, a one time, non-repeating script written earlier that day. I was denied the medication because I got a similar medication less than a month ago, and she wrote in big letters on my script "Do not prescribe until a month has passed" or something to that effect. This is wrong for many reasons, first, my psychiatrist is prescribing me with one time scripts for a reason, that reason is that we have not stabilized my dosage yet. The date I last picked up my dosage is irrelevant as it's not a repeating script. Furthermore, I am being punished for being conservative with my medication - because I delayed picking up my medication in the past, now I cannot pick up my medication until this arbitrary amount of time has past, and this delay will never be corrected. Then, to write in enormous letters on my script without asking, so that any other pharmacist, who would otherwise do the default and give me the script, now is scared off by this arbitrary limitation, was annoying. I still have medication left from my last prescription - that is not the issue at hand - it's that I shouldn't have artificial limitations imposed upon my script, which my psychiatrist did not add. I am being prescribed one time scripts for a reason, the violation of the spirit of this prescription for no legal reason by Samarah is annoying to me. These two were just today and yesterday. I used to stay at a Hostel with Samarah, Alice Springs Secret Travellers Hostel, and I don't know if I accidentally insulted her whilst staying with her, but it's illegal and immoral to let your personal opinion get in the way of a patients prescription. This is one of only two bad reviews I have left in the past 6 months, I'm not a complainer, but being treated this way at the pharmacy upsets me. I'm a 28 year old who works for council, not a drug seeker, teenager, or someone with a bad reputation. When I went to the other pharmacy to fact check this and showed them my script with the writing, the pharmacist said he would be happy to prescribe it 25 days after my last script, but when he took the script and read the writing with it's instructions and signature, he changed his mind and said he can only do it one day before. Pharmacists are scared to go against another pharmacists written directions for liability reasons, and Samarah adding this to my script for no purpose totally unprompted has added yet another barrier between myself and my medication.
General store staff are lovely, however the Pharmacist is arrogant, beyond rude, and completely apathetic, and will go out of his way to create delays and significant extra financial costs for people trying to fill scripts. They also say they are continuously low on stock in the Pharmacy section. Any other Pharmacist in town is better and will treat patients with respect and empathy.
Best pharmacy in town especially for prescriptions..no extra intrusive questions when asking for over the counter medications.. Costumer service is great & staff members all get along so no tension in store I have experienced this at other stores.. Price's are great & PBS scripts are back to 5.80 which others didn't put back down.. Great products great shopping experience
Yesterday I went there to get some medication which I have had before from my local chemist in Melbourne and only paid $6.95 for the medication but buying it from Priceline in Alice Springs cost me $39 when I queried the price they said they couldn't match the price in Melbourne was not asking to match the price but just get a fair price not to be ripped Only because I was a tourist
Excellent customer service. Staff members are very friendly and helpful. Always a good shopping experience when I am there.
