Broken my own rule to stay away from the tourist traps but had the family in town so a meal and a view of the bridge/harbour was in order. Given the very casual nature of Portobello’s appearance and menu I expected a reasonable and pleasant meal. Food was outrageously expensive on all accounts - quality foremost, portions and presentation. Service was a shambles and generally an overall unpleasant experience. Rule reiterated.
Excellent food with superb service in a stunning, open air Cafe setting, right next to the Sydney Opera House. We enjoyed our delectable and perfectly prepared ravioli while relaxing and taking in the views of the Quay, the Opera House and the bridge. Our waiter was prompt, efficient and very friendly and attentive. Just a lovely evening.
What a gorgeous location of beautiful Sydney, this cafe is worth going to. Has amazing views, delicious coffee and food and great service with a bubbly Enjoyable atmosphere that u can just sit back and enjoy.
Absolutely amazing. Food Service Scenery. What an awesome spot. Sit back relax with a delicious meal, only thing better than the view was the food. The service was top notch. Will go back again.
Nice outdoor eatery with views of the harbor. The food was delicious and service was great. Just beware of the seagulls or birds that prey on your food too. You aren't the only one waiting for your food to come out....
Excellent cafe on the quay. Best opera house and Sydney bridge views. Excellent food and coffee. Enjoyed our waiter Tim.
Really lovely open-air cafe in Circular Quay - amazing views of Sydney Harbour Bridge and a few minutes walk from the Opera House. A great place to meet with friends for Sunday brunch. Also great for simply soaking in the view or people-watching. Given its location, food and beverages aren’t over-priced; although there is a small weekend surcharge. Excellent quality food and service. A real gem.
We had lunch there, Surprisingly the sirloin salad was very good! The lunch time was quite pack, if only we were late later minutes we wont be able to sit beside the view.
Delicious food and an excellent view of the harbour. The staff are very helpful, and although the prices are high it is usually worth it. Beware of seagulls trying to steal your food!
The view is why you come here. We paid $48 for an antipasto platter for two people- it wasn't worth it. Half of it was left on the plate as the prosciutto smelled and tasted slightly wrong which completely put us off. Underneath the mound of overly sweet onion was a pile of rocket which was not mentioned on the menu but in all honestly was the most enjoyable thing on the plate. We walked away hungry. You'd be better off buying takeaway somewhere and enjoying it on the steps of the Opera House if the view is what you're after. It's a real shame that prime restaurant real estate like this is being wasted.
