Nice, quite and cozy hotel with great meals. I had the macadamia crusted chicken breast, and my friend had the warm pumpkin and beetroot salad for our mains, which we both enjoyed immensely. For dessert we both had the chocolate sticky date pudding which was delicious.
Went with a group of seniors and as you are able to see by the photos the meals were very nice. All very tasty and hot. Nice clean premises and cheerful staff well worth calling in. Even better book for a group event. We all enjoyed the experience.
The first time we ate here we really enjoyed our meals.I had Thai Green Tiger Prawns and my partner had Kangaroo. The second time we ate here the menu had changed and we both had the steak. I added surf n turf to mine so it wasn't cheap The steak was quite chewy but cooked to our liking of med/rare the chips were crinkle cut chips like oven fries and the salad did not look fresh. The bread rolls were stale as was the cake in the buffet. If I had my choice again for the price I probably would have ordered the all you can eat carvery. Staff were friendly but a bit under the pump with our large group. Meals came out very stagered and some took quite along time to arrive. They knew that we were coming as it was prebooked. Maybe more staff for service next time or another chef??
The place was very busy which made me think it was going to be great. We booked here because we were starting a ghost tour from here. The food was exceptional. I had the Scotch Fillet and it was cooked to my order and was accompanied by a delicious salad which also didn't disappoint me.
I didn't mind this place; it's very quiet to the point where we didn't know if they were actually serving lunch. The menu is extremely limited but if you're after a very simple pub meal e.g. Schnitzel with a dash of Port Adelaide history this is the place.
Our group visited The Port Dock Brewery Hotel on a Saturday Night. Easy Parking, we'd booked, but very quiet for a balmy hot night in January. We found the waiting staff to be polite and attentive, the dining area was clean with a historical, maritime decor and the food was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented to our table very shortly after our orders were placed. The brewery side of things was undergoing some repairs for a week or so, a disappointment for some of the boys, but I was satisfied with a crisp white so didn't bother me one bit. Reasonably priced and had the added bonus of an entertainment book voucher. Will definitely return, perhaps bring a few chums for the Port Adelaide Ghost Tour, which appeared to be gathering while we enjoyed our meal. Or maybe just for a wander around this fascinating heritage rich site.
Hadnt been here for years and checked out the menu which looked good having meals served with garden veggies, which most pubs in the area dont have as a side dish, went on a friday to be told the menu has been shortened down as their last chef left and had one in in training. The staff member behind the bar was great but unfortunately, the food wasn't so great.
Delicious Cream of Pumpkin Soup with a Warm Bread Roll and Butter. We had two dogs with us so we ate outside, without asking, the manager bought out a Bowl of Water for the Dogs..Now that's Great Port Adelaide Hospitality !
Nice and quiet location, great vibe, good service, admittedly we did go for lunch on the weekend of Adelaide 500.We didn't have to wait long for our meals to come ad hen they did they looked delicious. Only one of our orders was wrong meal, and when mentioned the waiter brought out the order docket and said in a polite way that what you recieved is what you ordered. Did offer to have the proper meal to be prepared. Food ordered- chicken schnity, cold rolls, steak sandwich and thai fish cakes, even though chicken satays were delivered instead. Have been to the Port Dock before and will probably go back again.
I paid $40 for King George whiting which was terrible. So overcooked it had the texture of calimari... how even? And such a weird taste I have never experienced before. Chef said 'it was fine'. We actually drove straight past the place looking for it, it was that dingy. Such a shame because it is a beautiful old building.
