A return visit after the first a few months back. The fish burger was delicious last time so worth another visit for another and it didn't disappoint. Service was nice, quick and friendly. Tomato sauce and vinegar available to purchase for those needing add-ons for their chips. Plenty of seating available near by outside.
One of the best Fish Burgers I've had for ages! Filled with lettuce, tomato and beetroot and tartar sauce. Yum. Whitebait pattie and chips got thumbs up from hubby too.
The chips is awesome. The fish also really good. Easy to park and they have outdoor tables to enjoy the food.
Ordered the fish pieces, chips, 2 squid rings, aoli, and tomato sauce. Everything was absolutely delicious. The fish batter was crispy, the fish was cooked well, and chips were done to perfection. The service was great, but there was a bit of a wait. 4 stars instead of 5 because the sauces are overpriced, $2.50 per pot.
14 September 2022. Presumably there are new owners operating this place. Was here 18 months ago and food was terrible. Tonight was going to walk past and look at options. Stopped and got giant burger no pineapple please for me, a chicken schnitzel burger for her who must be obeyed and some chips. 5 s plus. Fantastic service and food was delicious. Will be back. Place was busy at 5pm, and more customers were waiting after us. Thanks for your service and great food
The fish is very fresh and the chips are crunchy and wide cut. There was a long que and about 20 minutes wait when we ordered. That quickly became a 40 minute wait for the people after us - this place is in hot demand so get in quick or make your order via phone call :
Fish - blue cod - was a 3/5. Batter was quite thick. The chips were 1/5. For a chippy, I would expect the chips to be fantastic but these were overcooked, very crisp, almost like they’d been in the oven for too long.
Second time here and this time want as good, sadly. Service was a bit slow and seemed disorganised the older bloke was running the shop last time. The veg roll didn't have any identifiers on it and looked the same as the spring roll, even when they were busted open, so it took a bit of working out to get the right roll into the right face hole. The range wasn't quite as broad as most chippies either, but they do have a fancy looking menu and ordering system. Might stick with Dulcie's next time we're in town.
Great tasting fish and chips! If in Hokitika it’s well worth a stop in.
Sadly disappointed. Overpriced and under delivered. Quantity of chips in full scope - not enough for 2. Cod fillets small. Past experiences at this chippie definitely better. Sad but true. Parking: On street. That's expected.
