I was recommended to try Pit Stop Auckland Airport by a work colleague. They have a good reputation at my work and my experience with them confirmed this. 
The staff on the phone and at reception are courteous and welcoming. When I left my car with them they explained the fault they suspected and what would happen; they would have a look to confirm. They then said that they would ring me to let me know what they had found, what parts would be required, how much it would cost and how long it would take. They then gave me a lift back to work.
In addition to this I had an urgent need to have the car back by 2pm due to a previous engagement and Wayne assured me that they would keep the car in a mobile state and ensure I could take it at 2pm, regardless of what they found. If it needed more work I could bring it back in the morning to have it finished off. 
Sure enough they rang me at noon to explain what they had found, I didn't need any parts and they had carried out an adjustment to get me back on the road. I picked the car up at 1.15pm.
Garages too often underestimate the benefit of being communicative and personable to customers but Pit Stop Auckland Airport are a great example of how to do customer service properly.
