Phamous Kitchen
In the heart of Balmain’s shopping and eating precinct, a new contemporary Asian restaurant has opened its door – Phamous Kitchen. The menu features dishes with a wide range of flavours from various South East Asian cuisines including Vietnamese, Thai and Malaysian but given a Modern Australian twist! They even have gluten-free, dairy-free, sugar-free, and vegetarian options.
Originally from Saigon, owner, Thomas has taken his favourite Asian dishes and given them a modern Australian twist. Thomas, also the head chef, has trained and worked in modern Australian kitchens including a Whole Foods Café and brings his experience and Asian background to reinterpret traditional Asian dishes to create art on a plate. The attention to detail in the cooking and choice of using fresh produce is second to none. Thomas is extremely passionate about the way food impacts one’s health and life. He and his wife, Kate, simply aim to put a smile on customer’s faces with their tasty food.
The fried Rice Paper Rolls are made using rice paper sourced from Vietnam from a secret supplier and flown in specially to give the rolls a light, crunchy and fresh taste. Another speciality is the Signature Dish—Pork Crisp Pancake with Pulled Pork, Asian BBQ, coconut, micro herbs, goat curd and sauerkraut. This unique dish has been created by head chef Thomas and is exclusively available in Sydney, only at Phamous Kitchen. In addition, all the dishes are served with sauces that are made in-house daily and are sourced from local ingredients because quality is important to Thomas and Kate.
The restaurant serves small bites, salads, mains and share plates for lunch on the weekends and for dinner 6 days a week. You can even order online through their website and get 10% off for pick-up or free home delivery within the area.
