Petplan used to be the best in the market but have done themselves a disservice by changing to a new underwriter. Recently the cost of my Petplan insurance increased significantly. I understand and accept a slight annual price increase to keep up with inflation but a substantial increase in premium, with no additional benefits is extremely disappointing. Have cancelled my policy and will be taking my business elsewhere.

After 7 years with PetPlan, spending 6-7,000 with them. We only claimed 1 time and only get partially of the bill. The renewal this year 2018, up to 225.26% increase from 2017 to be exact. I wonder how it could be more than our Human Health Insurance. This is a waste of time being with the company who you can rely on when in need and support. Not worth it after all. We might as well save the 7,000 in the bank and use when we need to. But nobody want their pet to get sick.

Recently the cost of our insurance went up by 100%, literally doubled in price overnight with very little and very unclear communication. I understand a slight annual price increase to keep up with inflation but $150 per month to insure a healthy young-middle aged dog is ridiculous! it seems odd to double your fee with when no changes have been made and no extra services provided. Have cancelled our policy.

"Petplan" lures you in to insure your pup with "cover for life" slogan, but beware, after collecting your premiums for five risk and claim free years, without warning, almost double your next premium, to make you leave "Petplan.". Very disappointing, deliberate "modus operandi" (business plan of operating)!

Just cancelled my insurance with Petplan as they've just DOUBLED my pet's premiums so that now I'd be paying more for my pet's insurance than my own health insurance!! Petplan used to be the best in the market, but have shot themselves in the foot by changing to this new underwriter. My dog is still young and healthy and has no medical issues. Not only have they doubled the premiums, but they did it in such a shady way. Communication about the new price was hidden in one line in one of four attachments to an email that didn't have a subject line highlighting that this was an important email or concerned a price increase. Dodgy practices again!! Petplan have been fined before by the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC) because of dodgy dealings with customers. I've complained to ASIC about this price hike and recommend others do too.
