Small museum but it does cover the history of the area pretty well. Don't go out of your way for the place or base a whole trip around it but if you are nearby it's worth it. Free entry.

Really disappointing to go into a heritage museum and find that they have concreted over the hand cut mosiac floor designed and created by my great grandfather. A descendant of the settlers to whom the museum is dedicated. Craftsmanship of this calibre is not produced today and this example is so sadly lost. In comparison when the Wellington train station was refurbished they preserved the compass design my ancestor crafted there.

Great display of local history. This place has just been renovated and the setup has changed a bit so for those that have not been in a while I recommend another visit.

Great displays here, not very large museum but a good place to dander through if youre in the area. No cafe. FREE
