Expressions Arts & Entertainment Centre

Story

Expressions is a fantastic arts and entertainment hub just 30 minutes drive from Wellington.

The complex includes:
* a 200-seat theatrical performance venue - Gillies Group Theatre
* the public art gallery for the city - Mitre 10 MEGA Create and Golden Homes Galleries
* the civic hall event and recreation venue - The Professionals Recreation Hall
* a licensed cafe and caterer - Limelight Cafe.

Expressions galleries and TicketDirect box office are open 9am to 4pm Monday to Sunday.

Limelight Cafe is open 8.30am to 4pm on the same days as the centre, and for one hour prior to performance on show nights.

Entry to galleries is free!

More than an arts centre, all the elements of Expressions are available for hire, seven days per week.

A great space for public exhibitions, with an interesting permanent display of mirrors illustrating some surprising effects. The cafe is, er, challenged when it comes to tea in particular and I understand the coffee is very bitter too. This place far exceeds expectations. It has some amazing exhibitions that you would never expect of a small city art house. Even when there is no special exhibition going on, the place has other stuff we'll worth viewing. Cafe on site also.

This gallery is a hidden gem - great accessible exhibitions, and coffee and food if you want it too.

Classy little suburban art centre. Often hosts interesting international exhibitions on tour. Cafe has good vegetarian options and will do vegan on request. Close to train station

Saw the Smithsonian Space Exhibition and loved it, gallery has regular cool things to see and the cafe is fantastic.
