Came three days after it opened and the food, the wine and the service were brilliant. Came back today and it’s even better! Ordered lots of bits n pieces and won’t be eating dinner! Wine list is tight, interesting and fun. Service is funky and smooth. Food is incredibly good. Need to wait for a seat? Do it! It’s great value in a great location and well worth a visit. Now let’s get here for breakfast! Big thanks Omar for looking after us!
I have been here at least four times since it has opened and have had great meals all four times. I do time my visits for early mornings - knowing it gets very busy post 10:30am, so I have not had issues with getting a seat or meals being delayed. Have had at least 3 times I have been and food on the menu is either not available or not ready yet bread which is disappointing. Service is fine - not excellent - just fine. Is disappointing to see that a park cafe doesn't allow dogs and it looks bad with all the dogs tied to trees, whining for their owners. Food prices seems on par with other good cafes/restaurants in Parramatta.
Highlights for me would be the breathtaking venue indoor, the finishes and the feel of the overall branding - it’s well done for sure. My waiter was also very nice and explaining - helped us picked the menu. Do think the price is a little bit high for the portion sizes given and for its location.
Hot drinks are worth it. Food is delicious and w nice plating except it took 45 minutes for the mushroom toastie to be served. Other orders were wood fired pita and hummus. Location is undoubtedly a huge advantage. This new MISC is on its 3rd week and it would be interesting to see their service improve.
Located in Parramatta Park, this Cafe is good spot for a nice feed if the weather is nice. The wood fire pita bread, taramasalata and stracciatella were the perfect combination for each other and would definitely recommend getting the bread with any of the other starters. The mafaldine pasta was al dente however the sauce was lacking the flavour punch it needed similar to the taramasalata. The zucchini chips with the aoli were crispy and well seasoned. Could say that the service could be improved as there was not too much flexibility with choosing a table, were given the side table in the sun whilst there were plenty of other empty seats in anticipation that they would be able to fill it up. Also it felt that the staff was hurrying us out around 2.20pm the kitchen closes at 3pm but taking away all our plates and cutlery as soon as we were done. Good food but also ended up on the pricier side at the final bill.
Situated within Parramatta Park in a beautifully refurbished space, Misc. would do well to top up their portion size a little more, increase the size of both their coffee cups and surely a cabinet of delectable sweet treats wouldn't go astray...even just a humble croissant. Also, a gelato cart in Summertime would be the best investment you ever made
They say service can be very black and white, and when an establishment like Misc is thriving, with a full house, people are waiting for seats. Service can become very robotic, and time is of the essence. It can just be about the efficiency and competence of the floor staff. However, the Misc team flowed gracefully, making us feel great about their hospitality. We were a larger table and decided to leave the ordering up to our waiter Omar, and we are so happy we did! What a skill to know how much food to bring and cater to different dietary needs. As the dishes rolled out, it wasn't about getting the right plates to the right table; each wait person genuinely engaged with us, explained the dish and ensured we had our drinks topped up and another ready to go when required. The non-alcoholic cocktail list was plentiful; as a non-drinker, this can be the missing link in some hospitality places. They modified our drinks without hesitation, and we never needed to ask for water; it flowed. Misc nails it! The hospitality was terrific; from the get-go, it was about connecting with a dining experience that we are all still talking about. Thank you to the team at Misc.
Delighted and excited by our great lunch today. Excellent attentive service and great food, and that was while they were very busy. We’ll be back!
I was excited to visit this place with my siblings but we came out disappointed. This is a cafe. Yet no takeaway allowed. Dine in only and no pets allowed so if you’re coming with a pet to Parramatta Park don’t come to this cafe. The food is incredibly overpriced for basic eggs and toast with a dip total cost of $25. The portions are small. I understand the concept of what they’re trying to deliver. I feel like they missed the mark this place is situated in the west. Most places in the west portions are larger and simple food does the trick like having something like shakshukabaked eggs on the menu. The menu is complicated it’s not simple to order from. I feel like this concept would work in the city definitely not Parramatta. They need to understand the demographics they are selling too for this place to be successful. To top it off we brought our newborns to this place with a pram and they placed us in a sunny place when we specifically asked staff to sit in a place with shade the first time around which irritated us. After us, they placed guests there on the table with shade that we specifically asked for because of our babies. So we had to play musical chairs to keep the sun shining directly on the kids faces. The 2nd time round I went to this cafe. I asked for a coffee and something small on the menu. Staff placed me on a side table with no cutlery, no menu and she came to take everyone’s else’s order except me on other tables. Mind you we asked staff for a takeaway coffee and they said they don’t do which is understandable. Yet, the same girl that served me brought out a takeaway coffee for the couple sitting across me. I’m afraid we may have been targeted. Staff are friendly but food was a miss. I’ve been twice to this place still the same feeling. I hope they improve because it’s a beautiful location.
Great location in the park, food was delicious and the drinks were great. The seating is indoor/outdoor and very comfortable. They run multiple menus, so you can’t get breakfast items at lunch time, this allows MISC to give their kitchen staff a break & to set up the kitchen for lunch. We got lucky with not having to wait for a table, however be prepared to wait during busy hours. While it was more expensive than an average cafe lunch trip, it was worth it, lovely location & experience and it was nice to use linen napkins.
