Paninoteca S.p.A is an institution of the north, clearly loved by the locals. They have been pumping out fresh panini’s daily since 2016, with majority of their ingredients made in house. Their concept and inspiration comes from their Sicilian heritage which speaks volumes through their food. What sets them apart from other sandwich shops is their grilled meats - kangaroo, sausage, scotch fillet, pork belly! There’s over 20 panini’s to choose from as well as a secret menu! They’ve also got snacks like homemade arancini and Italo-inspired chips. And they haven’t forgotten about the vegetarian and GF folk out there. The Sausage panini with marinated peppers & mayo was delicious, lots of filling and super soft bread. You can’t go wrong with a combo like pork and fennel. I added Buffalo Mozzarella as recommended by the co-owner and it was a great decision. My only peeve was how messy it was to eat because of all the sauces and juices oozing out. The Prosciutto panini with pesto, buffalo mozzarella, tomato & basil was also super tasty, really fresh ingredients and the pesto in particular was wonderful. It was simple but effective and did the job. Sometimes less is more Their hand cut chips with grated Pecorino cheese are so so good. Crunchy, crispy, seasoned to the gods. And that cheese is a perfect combo with their special seasoning. I’ve been a customer for a long time and I’ll continue to support a fantastic business like this that prides itself on its quality and heritage
So authentic it reminds me of Florence, Italy! The porchetta was really tasty, although the gluten free panini was a bit dry as expected. The chips are more like wedges, crunchy and salty with Parmesan on top. Highly recommend.
Wow, these paninis are next level ! We had the chance to try the Kangaroo and the Polpette meat balls and can attest that they are absolutely delicious ! Tunes are on point I can see the good taste goes beyond the menu, staff is very pleasant and $2 espresso you just can’t go wrong. Make sure you give it a go when you are around the area.
I live down the street, and today was the first time I tried this place. Can’t believe I waited this long! Was so good. Food: delicious & tasty. Purchased the meatball panini with some chips. The meatballs, as I was told, are made on-site, and you can absolutely tell. The panini was delicious, and the meatballs were perfect. The tomato based sauce in the panini was devine. The hot chips topped with cheese were also pretty amazing. Venue: a small place located on a busy street. Visually appealing, and lots of outdoor seating front and back of the premises. The window out from to grab your food or coffee is a perfect addition to the place, especially during covid times. Overall, highly recommend.
Amazing sandwiches! Simple and delicious. Great fresh ingredients and made to a great standard. The hand cut chips are the best. Great atmosphere and friendly staff, as well as great value. it made for a fantastic experience. It will now become a regular.
Would love these guys to come to PORTMELBOUNE, absolutely amazing rolls, made just like my nonna use to . Thank you Peter , and David always for your service . Frances
Cute place, I loved the vibe and the staff was humble and helpful. I had avocado and eggs panini which was okay, could do much better at that price.
Paninoteca has a broad menu with plenty of choice. It would be an ideal location to drop in for a quick lunch or snack. We enjoyed the porchetta with roasted fennel and crackling which was delicious. The meat was cooked to perfection!
The raving reviews are a stark contrast to my experience. The chips were ok -more like wedges, not too crispy. The scotch fillet was a single sliver of meat and overall quite dry Photo of the pork belly which had a similar result -_- happy to support the local business but please don't compromise your quality during the covid recovery
The food here is simply that good! I seem to hypnotically find myself here just about every Saturday for lunch. I have a good feeling I’d be there all weekend, if they were open Sundays My usual go to panini are the Prosciutto, Chicken Cotoletta, and Scotch Fillet
