Beautifull place, at square pallace of palmerston north centre....you also able to see the memorial places with people struggle during the eorld war I, II, korean war, malvinas war, and peace keeper at east timor...a place with historical nuansa with clock bell ringing every hour....yes...beautifull and also a church in the another edge....
Beautiful gardens around the I site. Very clean , bright, staff are v friendly, and helpful. Nothing seems to much trouble. Great
Always helpful if open. But they close early on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays, which is very strange for a tourist promotion site. A PCC hangover from when few visitors came to Palmerston North. Checkout the uninviting Railway Station with an absence of any facilities to see what Council policy is towards hospitality. And ask them for an updated brochure on, say, local eateries! This city needs to pull up it's socks on NZ's major industry, which is no longer farming! Only the many parking meters stand ready to offer visitors 'services'. Disgraceful!
I was directed here by a local & didn’t regret leaving at 8.30am to get one of the three Motorhome parking spaces. I was able to get an all day permit to stay, so I could get everything done in the city Center that I needed. Nice roses gardens & of course the clock tower to look out over while eating lunch too. It was raining but didn’t deter from the beauty of the area at all. Plenty of cafes within walking distance of I needed a caffeine fix, a bike rack of I needed it, & very friendly helpful staff
The public showers here are some of the best in the country. They are very clean and the staff are super friendly. It costs $2 for a hot shower up to 20 minutes. You can also hire towels. The shower room is very spacious with two chairs, two coat hooks, a sanitary bin, a mirror and a soap dispenser. I wish all information centres had this service. Highly recommend.
I got all information I need when I came here, very friendly staff
Is a nice place but lots of but people around city area anointing good people.
Stopped here after failing to get good tramping info on the Tararua Range, specifically impending severe weather, by phone at other I-Sites fair enough. The facilities are fantastic here, from toilets incl. resting area in female toilets says my partner and after-hour toilets to shower facilities didn't personally use. The main reason I give 5 Stars is the people.. The gal was very friendly and the gentleman Garth I believe was extremely helpful and friendly. He advised on approaching the ranges based on experience and also showed us weather info from web sources I'd never seen. Knew about Te Araroa, various accommodation options, recent track changes and critical weather-related considerations e.g. catchment area. Excellent place and service, very much appreciated and deserving of recognition!
Very clean with approachable staff and very friendly.
