Our story
Paddington Medical Centre began in 1993 when a group of experienced practitioners joined forces to create a holistic centre providing the best of orthodox and complementary medical care.
We all share the philosophy that the practice of medicine is a vocation and not a business. We are committed to long term appropriate care rather than focusing on the quick fix. We strive to give time and attention to your needs.
Our practitioners are dedicated to the pursuit of excellence in their chosen field through continuing education and peer exchange. We actively contribute to the development of new directions in clinical practice through research, publications and innovative clinical programmes.
Paddington Medical Centre has cultivated a stable, harmonious and supportive working atmosphere. In an increasingly complex and stressful world, we aim to create a safe place where patients know they are being cared for by experienced and dedicated practitioners.
We are an appointment only practice, open Monday to Saturday. If you need to see a GP urgently or have a sick child we will do our utmost to see you at short notice. Pre-work/school appointments are available Mon-Wed.
For urgent medical attention at night and on weekends please call our deputising service on 1300 729 749 to arrange a visit. In the event of an emergency please ring the emergency number 000.

Please let the receptionist know what sort of consultation you need. The receptionist may ask about your needs, not to invade your privacy but to allow for better allocation of time. You may call ahead to check we are running on time and let us know if you can’t make your appointment.
Cancellation fees may apply if less than 24 hours’ notice is given for missed appointments.
Telephone Calls to practitioners
To avoid disturbing other patients during consulting hours, a message will be taken and your call returned, usually at the end of the session. Emergency calls are put through immediately. Often a consultation may be more appropriate.
Test Results
Our GPs aim to notify urgent results by telephone or via our no-reply email service. We will advise if an appointment is needed. Please collect your x-ray films. Uncollected x-rays are archived after 2 months and an hourly fee then applies to retrieve them.
A note about Billing
Our GPs run a private billing practice. Fees vary with time and complexity and are paid at time of consultation. Please ask reception for current information. We can lodge your online Medicare claim where possible. A fee applies for repeat referrals, prescriptions etc written by a GP outside of a consultation. Most pathology and imaging is bulk billed.
Health fund claims for acupuncture or osteopathy fees can be made at the time of payment at the clinic.
We accept Visa and Mastercard credit cards and EFTPOS cards.
Remember, if you have a medical emergency ring 000.
