Politely requested a quote for a damaged driveway storm water drain to be removed and replaced, which would involve some paving work as well.... took them 2 days to respond . The response was a curt two word "not interested" It's fine if someone doesn't want to take on a job... its a small job and sometimes that's the way it goes. I don't have a sense of entitlement. I don't expect they should drop everything to attend to my needs. But rude is rude. Dismissive is dismissive. Courtesy is free. "Thanks for the enquiry but the job is a little small for us " would have been a better way to handle it .
