I've been having lunch here for the past week and I've been impressed with their food. Good flavors, I've liked the service. Sure some have complained about their containers but I liked it personally. They've got salads, Noodles, curry/soups and they are venturing into dumpling and bao. This is not a place to chill for a long time, more of a place to come enjoy your food before you head on to your main entertainment/work. And yes they do have Ben and Jerry's ice cream...
i was always curious with this takeaway store as i pass by it whenever i go to newmarket. so i gave it a try on a random day and it was a great decision having my lunch there. the mee goreng was yum! going there to try other dishes next time! a bit pricey but the service and food was great.
This is an average, not low cost, noodle bar that serves more than just noodle including curry, stir fried in rice. The taste is ok. Given the choices in Newmarket worth exploring somewhere else. However the key issue is they serve food in takeaway boxes even if your having it in the noodle bar. The most challenging part of when your curry and rice comes in the takeaway box that is really challenging to eat. Suggest the bar consider alternative way of serving for eat in customer and the type of food being served.
Yum yum yum. Prawn wonton, Edamame beans, Pork fried rice, Satay chicken, Chilli beef and Pad Thai.
A good menu with a big enough variety of dishes and drinks to choose from without being over the top. Quick and efficient service and our food came out promptly too. Decent serving sizes, quality ingredients and definitely a bit spicy. Good location, especially for people watching, with indoor tables and high benches with stools as well as outdoor tables. We sat outside, and the main faults I found were that the table wasn't even close to level and it also wobbled.
We got a Groupon voucher and placed a vegetarian Pad Thai takeaway order at the eatery. When we ate it, we just threw up immediately. The tofu was cold and seemed like it was fried in burnt oil. The oil was still in the tofu as it they were fried a few days ago, the oil had gone into the Noodles as well. On top of that the Noodles were raw. The whole dish was horrible. We both ended up puking and throwing the remaining food in trash to avoid food poisoning. I went back to report it to the eatery and the girl there just giggled, did not utter a word and just ignored me. I would not recommend this place.
Ordered the Japanese cashew chicken with udon noodles. Quiet night, only 1 order in front of me and 2 others seated and eating in the restaurant. Flavour was ok, perhaps slightly better than a supermarket packet sauce. Not a single cashew nut in my dish.... you know, one of the key items of the meal. Anyway, average at best, wok'n'noodle runs circles around this place at the same price point.
Avoid if possible. I ordered the pad Thai vegetarian among other things and it came delivered 30mins late and cold. It also to my surprise contained chicken - I called up to let them know their mistake and the manager didn't really seem to care. They refused to remake the meal sans chicken - I was then told that they will come back to pick up the uneaten pad Thai pretty odd IMO and give me a cash refund. I agreed to this and the driver arrived an hour and a half later to refund me. On the bright side, the vegetarian dumplings and spring rolls were nice at least. Shame about the management.
Otto Woo have 2 ways they mark Gluten Free food on their menu. GF for straight gluten free, and GFR for food you have to request to be gluten free. I ordered the beef and greens which was marked GF. But when it arrived it contained regular wheat based egg noodles, which I didn't spot til a couple of mouth fulls in. I took it back to the counter and received a new one with an apology and an admission that the menu was mismarked. But please please fix this. Not everyone is going to notice like I did. If you've got something marked GF on your menu it HAS to be gluten free without exception. Often coeliacs will gravitate to those items because you get pretty sick of specifically requesting gluten free every time. Great service today, but terrible dangerously mismarked menu for those with allergies. Please fix it.
$15.8 will get you an average sized portion of food in a takeaway paper noodle box regardless of if you are dining in. I ordered the green curry chicken, the heat level was good and was indicated on the menu. Unfortunately the curry wasn't really much of a curry as there was no curry sauce, just some vegies and a little bit of chicken on top of a lot of soggy rice that had some of the curry sauce in it. There was also a lot of bamboo, even for a Thai style curry and some of it was tough and inedible. The curry also lacked flavour. For the price I wouldn't ever bother coming back and wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless it's the only place open.
