Story

A great place to connect with New Zealand's native wildife, especially Kiwi ( Kiwi are always on display in our Nocturnal Houses). We were the first Kiwi House in NZ to display & breed kiwi for release back back into the wild. Not-for-profit organisation at the heart of NZ conservation since 1971.
Large collection of native birds, plus reptiles (tuatara & geckoes).

 Like my review! So I got to see two Kiwi and felt so lucky to see two of them out of four. Plus, their aviary was so lovely and vast. I absolutely loved seeing the native pigeon which was so beautiful. I highly recommend it to others to enjoy this amazing place to see Kiwi up close and person. They are so cute.

A very expensive experience at $26 each this cost us $104.  I have been before, maybe 20 years ago and it was great.  Now we have been to attractions all around NZ and this was underwhelming.  Visit was February 2025.  Most of the park seems closed.  Kiwihouse had a couple of kiwi but impossible to see I understand they are nocturnal and would be difficult to see.nnMy guests were like this is $26 and it is all overgrown. We should go complain for a refund. This is really $15 Max experience.nnA lot of the cages are overrun with sparrows, inside and out.  There is more than a hint of neglect here.  Went to see the gecko cages and they are full of plant life, so packed that you can't see into them.

Great morning with the kids at the Otorohanga Kiwi Park this morning  got to see kiwis up close and our little ones loved running around the park looking at the birds and reptiles. We got the family pass so we can visit as much as we want for a year.

So rare to see an alive kiwi let alone 3! We witnessed 3 of them eating! Took a while to see them since it was dark but eventually they got hungry and went towards the glass. The rest of the place looked ok. Lots of ducks and many common birds. Some areas smell really bad from all the bird poops and dirty ponds.nOverall, still recommended for the Kiwis.

The Otorohanga Kiwi House was home to about four kiwi birds across two dimly lit enclosures, making them a bit challenging to spot, though I was fortunate enough to find all of them. The staff were friendly and happy to assist in locating the birds. In addition to the kiwi birds, there were various aviary and gecko exhibits to explore.
