High quality classy restaurant with great beach views, and the souffle was gluten free. Advise to go for special occasions or whenever you want to feel special
Absolutely amazing! Hands down the best view on the GC, wonderful, attentive staff & delicious food to go with it. Also.. the cocktails, incredible!! Will definitely be back
Not impressed. My spaghetti was glutinous and I felt there was a big delay between the cooking process and the serving process. The coffee was the best part of the meal and certainly the aspect is superb. The waiter was excellent, but what a pity the quality of the cooking was so poor. I don't mind an expensive restaurant if it provides excellent food. Yours, sadly, did not.
The restaurant has a nice setting and a good menu. The food is also very good. However, my experience was largely ruined by extremely poor service. The wait staff did nothing to let us know that not one but two items on the menu were unavailable because they had run out. I consider it extremely poor to not let customers know immediately upon being presented with their menus that an item or items is or are unavailable. When our food did arrive, I was also extremely disappointed that nobody came to check on us and ask how the food was. In fact, the wait staff were rather absentee all evening. We weren't asked after the first time if we wanted more drinks or anything else. For a restaurant in the moderate price range mains $25-$50 this is a minimum standard of service that I expect. I also felt that overall the food was overpriced. Dinner for two with a glass of wine each set us back $90. I would not go back.
The main was amazing !! Unfortunately the bread at start was dry and hard. The entree we had was nothing to write home about I didn't even finish the flavours were just not right together. The waitress was lovely but give me time to digest my main before you rush in and offer dessert. And a little advice too - if you are going to recommend wine to go with a food know where it is from. Martinborough north island is not in Marlborough south island sorry to say. Sorry but not worth the price. I am sure the view is amazing during the day.
A wonderful nicely furnished venue next to the ocean. Staff couldn’t be nicer and all meals I ordered were very good. I would recommend the lamb as it was cooked to perfection and beautifully seasoned. A lovely night out.
Worst restaurant I have ever been too. Ridiculous prices, I paid $41.00 for a chicken dish that comprised of half a chicken breast, that wasn't even tender, with a tiny bit of leek and baby corn on the side. Service was atrocious, furniture was being moved as we were eating as they were setting up for a wedding, they removed my friends class from the table before she had even finished drinking it and one of my other friends couldnt even finish eating her meal because it was so terrible. Our waiter did not have a smile on his face for the whole time we were there. Oskars really need to lift their game if they think that the view alone will carry them through. I, and my fellow diners, will never return to this terrible overpriced and overrated restaurant again.
Meal was excellent and service was great. Staff were quite attentive to our group and were willing to assist with what we asked for. It took approx 1h30 to bring the starters out and then approx 30min after the starter we received our main meal so this was poor planning as you were reasonably full from the starter and now had to have the main.
Good location though the service was very poor. Seafood dishes were fine and the lamb off the shoulder was good. Eye fillet was very poor. We had a table of 9 adults and all will never attend again.
Love, this restaurant!! The new menu is fantastic and the waitstaff are always so friendly and attentive!! The new refurb is very nice too - comfortable and casually elegant. Cannot wait to visit again!
