Original Pokeno Icreams and Cafe

Great variety of flavours and couldn’t believe my eyes when I saw the prices. They also have dairy free options which is amazing and the dairy free flavours are just as good. They come in a cone only but if you want a cup or a waffle cone you only have to pay an extra 20c which is incredible value for money. I love this shop and will be back. It’s worth the drive and is iconic

Great value for money, friendly service, and generous serving sizes. The best place in Pōkeno to get an ice cream and hot chips!

The food on offer here is fresh and varied. The fish bites are a great favourite, the fish is fresh and the batter crispy. All the prices are very reasonable. The owners are delightful, honest and friendly and eager to please. Lots of delicious icecream at low prices compared to elsewhere. A favourite place to grab food on the go. Good coffee too!!

Always nice to get a ice cream with all your NZ favourite flavours never disappoints me especially if you have the kids with you. The hot food is nice too. Reasonably priced and a nice drive to get the everyone out of the house. Both Ice cream shops are very similar but I prefer the original store.

Lovely friendly staff and an amazing selection of ice cream flavors. It's a very popular spot, so there may be a queue sometimes, but it's still worth the wait They also still have goody goody gumdrops which is great but do get there before it runs out that is if it's a favourite. I'm still not happy it's being discontinued

We stopped here on our way to Auckland from Hamilton. Although not the best ice cream I have ever had, this was super tasty and really good value for money. I had the butterscotch pecan and the rum and raisin, both delicious. I would highly recommend visiting and have paid far more for ice cream nowhere near as good.

Great selection of ice creams, from memory 30+ Inflation has taken its toll here, ice cream are the same price but have decreased in size. Wasn't super busy when we went and the staff were clear enough to understand. If you are wanting go pay cash though... You're out of luck as they accept eftpos only. No cash, no credit, no pay wave.

We always love stopping for ice cream. This time my daughter ordered some chicken and chips which is also loved as it was cooked nice and fresh for her. Many thanks we will be back again for sure

I shall say the Legendary Original Pokeno Ice Cream. On a average day, there is always a queue outside the shop. 20 plus flavours and up to 10 scoops, this is heaven for ice cream lovers. I saw so many times some one checked in this place on Facebook. Great value and services. Highly recommended!

Really good ice cream, one huge scoop for just about $2. Service can improve a bit though. The lady serving us was unwelcoming and impatient, but seemed friendly with the other customers. Nevertheless, worth the visit!
