This place is one of the best restaurants to come to if you are staying in Wellington! Ombra is always a popular restaurant to eat at and it's difficult to get a seat, unless you arrive right when it opens. The food there is absolutely amazing and very good for the price, making it way worth the money. The restaurant has kept the original interior, rather than painting over it and making it modernized. It has a great atmosphere and the servers are always smiling and happy to help. I had the mozzarella pizza and the potato pizza and those were very tasty. Overall, this is a good restaurant if you are willing to spend a bit on getting a delicious meal and I would highly recommend it!
Loved it. Visited 3 weeks in a row and couldn't get a table. So made a reservation for tonight and did not regret it. Delicious food. Great service from a classy waiter who was just right in all he did. Delightful desserts... mmmm very happy and relaxed. Also- I used the bathroom and to my surprise there was a hair dryer, straighteners and nice hand wash & hand lotion! Felt taken of and enjoyed the whole time there. Thanks Ombra
A cozy Italian. Had dinner myself so couldn’t try much but all the dishes from other tables are looking stunning. Friendly and helpful staffs. Had new season sweet carrot salad with yogurt and apricot. The seasoning has a bit of cumin and pistachio and something. Absolutely melting The pizza base wasn’t crunchy as I would expect but overall it was nice. Could be the one that I ordered.
On walk to hotel after dinner and walked by and looked too interesting to not try. Lovely staff. Beautiful chill ambiance. Love the layout. Drinks were on point. Food was fresh and excellent. Awesome crowd for a Monday evening. So glad i stopped.
Went out for our Anniversary. It was a busy night and we had no reservation but we luckily got seated by the bar. Had a free sample of the pizzette. Came to this place for the gnocchi great but fell inlove with their potato pizzette and polenta chips. Hubby loved his steak and was very satisfied. Been asking to come back but have been busy. Best Italian Restaurant. Hoping to come back soon!
Easily my all-time favourite restaurant in Wellington. From their entrées all the way to dessert and drinks, nothing disappoints. Their duck risotto and gnocchi with pancetta are the best. Service is exceptionally friendly. Must book before you go.Recommended dishesGnocchi, Risotto Duck Mascarpone
Great place for a Birthday get together. Sharing food is always a great way to go to sample lots of different dishes. Food is really nice here.Food: 4/5
Amazing service from the staff. Wide range of dishes from the menu, this place caters well to the vegetarians. We ordered the risotto, gnocchi and pizza and the food was definitely good value for money, super filling as well. This place is worth checking out, thanks guys for a good night
Nice dining environment. There is also explanation of some Italian words in the menu if you don’t speak Italian. It is recommended to order smaller meals for sharing. We ordered mains such as pasta and risotto, and they didn’t live up to expectations. However, I recognise the experience may be different if we were to order smaller meals for sharing.
It’s a really great dinner in Wellington for me! My partner and I went Wellington for our 5th anniversary. We chose to go to Ombra to celebrate it, it’s really great Italian food and good service! Particularly Alex :. We didn’t book a timetable but Alex tried to help us to have a table for us, that is really sweet and nice. Btw, My favorite is the market fish!
